Reply to “Many hypotheses but no replication for the association between PDE4D and stroke”
TL;DR: This data indicates that the association between PDE4D and stroke is not well understood and that further research is needed to establish a cause-and-effect relationship.
Journal ArticleDOI
The properties of the cross-match estimate and split sampling
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple decomposition of the variance of the cross-match estimate is proposed, which can be regarded as a generalization of Efron and Stein's cross-reference estimator.

Inversion on chromosome 8p23 is a risk factor for anxiety disorders, depression and bipolar
TL;DR: In this paper, an association between psychiatric disorders and disorders comorbid with psychiatric disorders, and genetic markers in the 8p23 genomic region is described, and methods and surrogate markers for detecting the orientation of the Inv8p23 inversion fragment are also disclosed.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: It is shown that polygenic scores of educational attainment predict specific aspects of childhood cognition, as measured with IQ, and one of these variants associated with educational attainment, rs4851266-T, also associates with Verbal IQ in dyslexic children.
