Proposed Nomenclature for Salt Intake and for Reductions in Dietary Salt
Norm R.C. Campbell,Ricardo Correa-Rotter,Francesco P. Cappuccio,Jacqui Webster,Daniel T. Lackland,Bruce Neal,Graham A. MacGregor +6 more
TL;DR: The World Hypertension League with other organizations involved in dietary salt reduction have proposed a standardized nomenclature based on normal ancestral levels of salt intake and also on ranges of reduction in salt intake in clinical and population interventions that is likely to result in less confusion about Salt intake and interventions to reduce dietary sodium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of blood pressure lowering on cardiovascular events, in the context of regression to the mean: a systematic review of randomized trials.
Abdul Salam,Emily Atkins,Johan Sundström,Y. Hirakawa,Dena Ettehad,Connor A. Emdin,Bruce Neal,Mark Woodward,John Chalmers,Eivind Berge,Salim Yusuf,Kazem Rahimi,Anthony Rodgers +12 more
TL;DR: Clinical practice should focus less on pretreatment BP levels, which rarely predict future untreated BP levels or rule out capacity to benefit from BP lowering in high cardiovascular risk patients, and instead focus on prompt, empirical treatment to maintain lower BP for those with high BP and/or high risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Verbal autopsy coding: are multiple coders better than one?
Rohina Joshi,Alan D. Lopez,Stephen MacMahon,Srinath Reddy,Rakhi Dandona,Lalit Dandona,Bruce Neal +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess the impact on the reported cause-of-death patterns of a verbal autopsy coding strategy based on a review of every death by multiple coders versus a single coder.

Journal ArticleDOI
Measuring the Healthiness of the Packaged Food Supply in Australia.
Michelle Crino,Gary Sacks,Elizabeth Dunford,Elizabeth Dunford,Kathy Trieu,Kathy Trieu,Jacqui Webster,Stefanie Vandevijvere,Boyd Swinburn,Jason Y Wu,Bruce Neal,Bruce Neal +11 more
TL;DR: Nutrient profiling, dietary guidelines and the extent of food processing provided comparable assessments of the nutritional quality of Australia’s packaged food supply, but individual measures of nutrient composition did not, but may be of value for identifying specific foods of concern.
