Rhinovirus Infections and Their Roles in Asthma: Etiology and Exacerbations.
David A. Jackson,James E. Gern +1 more
TL;DR: Rhinovirus infections can cause wheezing illnesses in all age groups and can cause acute respiratory obstruction and exacerbations in children and adults as discussed by the authors , however, for most individuals, rhinovirus infection commonly cause cold symptoms with little or no involvement of the lower airways.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biochemical construction of specific chimeric plasmids from ColE1 DNA and unfractionated Escherichia coli DNA
TL;DR: The yield of transformants suggests that this method will be useful for cloning and amplifying a wide variety of functionally defined genes from E. coli and other prokaryotic organisms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Severe sequence-specific toxicity when capecitabine is given after Fluorouracil and leucovorin.
Ivo M. Hennig,Jay D. Naik,Sarah Brown,Alex J Szubert,David Alan Anthoney,David A. Jackson,Alan M. Melcher,S Michael Crawford,Christopher Bradley,Julia Brown,Matthew T. Seymour +10 more
TL;DR: In chemotherapy-naïve patients, cape citabine produced more toxicity than FU/LV, but at levels in line with previously reported data, however, treatment with capecitabine after F U/LV caused markedly increased toxicity, indicating a sequence-specific interaction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spectral control in multisection AlGaAs SQW superluminescent diodes at 800 nm
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that multielectrode pumping allows a significant increase in the output power of quantum well SLDs in the broad spectrum operating regime. But the results were limited to the case of AlGaAs SQW SLD.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Kernel Size-Related Quantitative Trait Locus qKW9 Encodes a Pentatricopeptide Repeat Protein That Aaffects Photosynthesis and Grain Filling
Juan Huang,Gang Lu,Lei Liu,Lei Liu,Mohammad Sharif Raihan,Xu Jieting,Liumei Jian,Lingxiao Zhao,Thu M. Tran,Thu M. Tran,Qinghua Zhang,Jie Liu,Wenqiang Li,Cunxu Wei,David M. Braun,Qing Li,Alisdair R. Fernie,David A. Jackson,David A. Jackson,Jianbing Yan +19 more
TL;DR: Characterization of qKW9 highlights the importance of optimizing photosynthesis for maize grain yield production and identifies a QTL involved in C-to-U editing of ndhB, a subunit of the chloroplast NADH dehydrogenase-like complex.
