Renal biomarker qualification submission: a dialog between the FDA-EMEA and Predictive Safety Testing Consortium

Frank Dieterle, +68 more
- 01 May 2010 -
TL;DR: This was a pilot process, and the experience gained will both facilitate better understanding of how the qualification process will probably evolve and clarify the minimal requirements necessary to evaluate the performance of biomarkers of organ injury within specific contexts.
Journal ArticleDOI

The External RNA Controls Consortium: a progress report.

TL;DR: The External RNA Controls Consortium (ERCC) is developing commonly agreed-upon and tested controls for use in expression assays, a true industry-wide standard control.
Journal ArticleDOI

DNA chips: promising toys have become powerful tools

TL;DR: In this paper, hybridization of RNA or DNA-derived samples to DNA chips allows us to monitor expression of mRNAs or the occurrence of polymorphisms in genomic DNA, which holds great promise for identifying gene polymorphisms that predispose man to disease, gene regulation events involved in disease progression, and more effective disease treatments.
Journal ArticleDOI

It's the genes! EST access to human genome content

TL;DR: There is a compelling need to build on the informatic synthesis of human gene data, and to devise facile methods for determining gene functions.
Journal ArticleDOI

PPARα Agonists Reduce 11β-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase Type 1 in the Liver

TL;DR: These results are the first to show PPARα agonists can affect glucocorticoid metabolism in the liver by altering 11βHSD1 expression after chronic treatment, consistent with reports of their antidiabetic effects.
