Common variation in PHACTR1 is associated with susceptibility to cervical artery dissection

Stéphanie Debette, +69 more
- 01 Jan 2015 -
TL;DR: The rs9349379[G] allele was previously shown to be associated with lower risk of migraine and increased risk of myocardial infarction, and the mechanisms underlying this pleiotropy might provide important information on the biological underpinnings of these disabling conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Higher neutrophil counts before thrombolysis for cerebral ischemia predict worse outcomes

TL;DR: Higher neutrophil counts and NLR are independently associated with sICH and worse outcome at 3 months, and the identification of mediators of this effect could provide new targets for neuroprotection in patients treated by rtPA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Door-to-needle time and the proportion of patients receiving intravenous thrombolysis in acute ischemic stroke: uniform interpretation and reporting.

TL;DR: A shorter delay from symptom to IVT, the so-called symptom-to-needle time, can make the difference between being independent and being dependent, and national guidelines recommend that the DNT should not exceed this 60-minute limit.
Journal ArticleDOI

Towards understanding seasonal variability in cervical artery dissection (CeAD).

TL;DR: Higher pulse pressure was significantly associated with autumn–winter CeAD, while age, gender, history of hypertension, recent infection, and recent trauma were not, and no association between pulse pressure and seasonal occurrence was found in non-CeAD ischemic stroke patients.
