Journal Article
European organization for cord blood banking.
TL;DR: The results seem to demonstrate that one cord blood contains enough hematopoietic stem cells to reconstitute the marrow in a child, the incidence of graft vs. host disease (GVHD) has been very low in matched transplants, and the immune reconstitution has not been different from a bone marrow transplant.
Journal ArticleDOI
The multifactorial etiology of graft-versus-host disease
TL;DR: It is suggested that pretransplant cytoreductive therapy reactives latent virus and protozoan infections and promotes the invasion of bacteria and fungi through damaged mucosal membranes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Decreased Nonrelapse Mortality after Unrelated Cord Blood Transplantation for Acute Myeloid Leukemia Using Reduced-Intensity Conditioning: A Prospective Phase II Multicenter Trial
Bernard Rio,Sylvie Chevret,Stephane Vigouroux,Patrice Chevallier,Sabine Furst,Anne Sirvent,Jacques-Olivier Bay,Gérard Socié,Patrice Ceballos,Anne Huynh,Jérôme Cornillon,Sylvie Françoise,Faezeh Legrand,Ibrahim Yakoub-Agha,Gérard Michel,Natacha Maillard,Geneviève Margueritte,Sébastien Maury,Madalina Uzunov,Claude Eric Bulabois,Mauricette Michallet,Laurence Clement,Charles Dauriac,Karin Bilger,Eliane Gluckman,Annalisa Ruggeri,Agnes Buzyn,Stéphanie Nguyen,Tabassome Simon,Noel Milpied,Vanderson Rocha +30 more
TL;DR: Despite the decreased NRM observed, other RIC regimens with higher myelosuppression should be evaluated to decrease relapse in high-risk AML.
Journal ArticleDOI
Human papillomavirus infection and anogenital condyloma in bone marrow transplant recipients.
Marjan Daneshpouy,Gérard Socié,Christine Clavel,Agnès Devergie,Jacqueline Rivet,Isabelle Cartier,Nicole Brousse,Philippe Birembaut,Eliane Gluckman,Anne Janin +9 more
TL;DR: As in solid organ transplant recipients, anogenital condyloma may develop after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation, because the oncoprotein of HPV is able to bind and to degrade p53, it may lead to genetic instability, and subsequently to malignant transformation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of bone marrow graft B lymphocyte subsets on outcome after HLA-identical sibling transplants.
David Michonneau,Régis Peffault de Latour,Raphaël Porcher,Marie Robin,Marc Benbunan,Vanderson Rocha,Patricia Ribaud,Christèle Ferry,Agnès Devergie,Valérie Vanneaux,Eliane Gluckman,Jean Pierre Marolleau,Gérard Socié,Jérôme Larghero +13 more
TL;DR: A higher B lineage‐specific hematopoietic progenitor cells (CD34+ CD19+) cell dose is associated with a significant decrease incidence of acute GvHD.
