Journal ArticleDOI

Incidence and risk factors of EBV reactivation after unrelated cord blood transplantation: a Eurocord and Société Française de Greffe de Moelle-Therapie Cellulaire collaborative study.

TL;DR: EBV events were not major complications after UCBT when EBV load is weekly monitored and preemptive treatment started, therefore, EBV reactivation as time-dependent covariate was not statistically associated with survival.
Journal ArticleDOI

Predicting the costs of allogeneic sibling stem-cell transplantation: results from a prospective, multicenter, French study.

TL;DR: The data highlight the discrepancy between the Diagnosis Related Group prospective payment system and actual costs of geno-identical stem-cell transplantation results from posttransplant complications that cannot be predicted prospectively and require ex post cost adjustment.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vivo repopulation ability of genetically corrected bone marrow cells from Fanconi anemia patients

TL;DR: It is shown here that human primary FA BM cell survival can be ameliorated by using specific culture conditions that limit oxidative stress, and a model of gene-corrected human primary cell growth is provided that carries the potential to better delineate the combined role of both DNA damage and oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of FA.
Journal ArticleDOI

International exchange of cord blood units: the registry aspects

TL;DR: The aims and activities of the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA) Cord Blood Working Group (CBWG) are described, which was established in 2007 to gather and exchange information about cord blood registry needs and activities, and to develop guidelines to support and promote safe effective international exchange of unrelated CBUs for transplantation.
