Journal ArticleDOI

Cord blood-circulating endothelial progenitors for treatment of vascular diseases.

TL;DR: It is shown that not all frozen CB units from a CB bank are able to generate EPC colonies in culture, and when they do so, number of colonies is lower than that obtained with fresh CB units, indicating that CB cryopreservation should be improved to preserve integrity of stem cells other than haematopoietic ones.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of splenectomy before bone-marrow transplantation on survival in chronic granulocytic leukaemia

TL;DR: A retrospective analysis of 210 European patients transplanted between 1980 and 1984, 105 splenectomised and 105 not, neither splenectomy nor splenic irradiation was found to alter survival and relapse.
Journal ArticleDOI

Alternative donors hematopoietic stem cells transplantation for adults with acute myeloid leukemia: Umbilical cord blood or haploidentical donors?

TL;DR: The current status of UCBT and haplo transplants to treat adults with high-risk acute myeloid leukemia is reviewed and the main issues associated with the use of both hematopoietic stem cell transplant approaches are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Recovery of female fertility after chemotherapy, irradiation, and bone marrow allograft: further evidence against massive oocyte regeneration by bone marrow-derived germline stem cells.

TL;DR: This paper presents a monograph on the development of Hematologie Moleculaire in the clinic and its applications in the field of regenerative medicine.
