No evidence for accelerated ageing-related brain pathology in treated HIV: longitudinal neuroimaging results from the Comorbidity in Relation to AIDS (COBRA) project
James H. Cole,James H. Cole,Matthan W.A. Caan,Jonathan Underwood,Davide De Francesco,Rosan A van Zoest,Ferdinand W. N. M. Wit,Henk J M M Mutsaerts,Robert Leech,Gert J. Geurtsen,Peter Portegies,Charles B. L. M. Majoie,Maarten F. Schim van der Loeff,Caroline A. Sabin,Peter Reiss,Alan Winston,David J. Sharp +16 more
TL;DR: It is found that middle-aged PLWH, when receiving successful treatment, are at increased risk of accelerated aging-related brain changes or cognitive decline over 2 years, and cognitive performance was longitudinally stable in both groups.
Journal ArticleDOI
ExploreASL: An image processing pipeline for multi-center ASL perfusion MRI studies
Henk J M M Mutsaerts,Jan Petr,Paul F. C. Groot,Pieter Vandemaele,Silvia Ingala,Andrew D. Robertson,Lena Václavů,Inge Rasmus Groote,Hugo J. Kuijf,Fernando Zelaya,Owen O'Daly,Saima Hilal,Alle Meije Wink,Ilse M. J. Kant,Matthan W.A. Caan,Catherine Morgan,Jeroen de Bresser,Elisabeth Lysvik,Anouk Schrantee,Astrid Bjørnebekk,Patricia Clement,Zahra Shirzadi,Joost P.A. Kuijer,Viktor Wottschel,Udunna C. Thomas,Enrico De Vita,Atle Bjørnerud,Aart J. Nederveen,Jeroen Hendrikse,Iris Asllani,Frederik Barkhof +42 more
TL;DR: The reproducibility for each cohort when processed at different centers with different operating systems and MATLAB versions is shown, and its effects on the quantification of gray matter cerebral blood flow are illustrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effects of age on resting-state BOLD signal variability is explained by cardiovascular and cerebrovascular factors.
Kamen A. Tsvetanov,Richard N. Henson,Richard N. Henson,P. Simon Jones,Henk J M M Mutsaerts,Delia Fuhrmann,Lorraine K. Tyler,Cam-CAN,James B. Rowe,James B. Rowe +9 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that RSFA can be used to separate vascular from neuronal factors, to characterize neurocognitive aging, and recommended for the use of RSFA in the research of aging.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accurate MR Image Registration to Anatomical Reference Space for Diffuse Glioma.
Marjolein Visser,Jan Petr,Domenique M J Müller,Roelant S Eijgelaar,Eef J. Hendriks,Marnix G. Witte,Frederik Barkhof,Frederik Barkhof,Marcel van Herk,Henk J M M Mutsaerts,Hugo Vrenken,Jan C. de Munck,Philip C. De Witt Hamer +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors quantified the accuracy of MR image registration to anatomical reference space with linear and non-linear transformations using estimated tumor targets of glioblastoma and lower-grade glioma, and anatomical landmarks at pre- and post-operative time-points using six commonly used registration packages (FSL, SPM5, DARTEL, ANTs, Elastix, and NiftyReg).
Journal ArticleDOI
Cognitive Improvement After Kidney Transplantation Is Associated With Structural and Functional Changes on MRI.
Marit S van Sandwijk,Ineke J. M. ten Berge,Matthan W.A. Caan,Marco Düring,Willem A. van Gool,Charles B. L. M. Majoie,Henk J M M Mutsaerts,Ben Schmand,Anouk Schrantee,Leo M. J. de Sonneville,Frederike J. Bemelman +10 more
TL;DR: For both recipients and donors, neuropsychologic testing scores improved 1 year after transplantation (donation), and recipient improvement significantly exceeded donor improvement on tasks measuring attention and working memory.
