Journal ArticleDOI

Exercise blood pressure and heart rate reference values.

TL;DR: This study provides a reliable set of prediction equations for blood pressure and heart rate values at peak exercise, assessed in a general population over a wide age range.
Journal ArticleDOI

Posttraumatic stress disorder is associated with reduced vitamin D levels and functional polymorphisms of the vitamin D binding-protein in a population-based sample.

TL;DR: The results suggest that an altered vitamin D metabolism may be involved in the pathophysiology of PTSD and genotypes of the Gc and thus Gc serum levels may impact on PTSD development over and above the effects of 25(OH)D.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thyroid disorders in employees of a nuclear power plant

TL;DR: Investigating the association between occupational exposure to ionizing radiation and the risk of autoimmune thyroid disease as well as thyroid nodules and dysfunction in workers of a former nuclear power station found that nuclear power plant employees have an increased risk of elevated serum TSH levels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reference values for respiratory pressures in a general adult population - results of the Study of Health in Pomerania (SHIP)

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provided a representative set of sex-specific prediction equations of respiratory muscle strength and showed that respiratory muscle pressure decreases with age and is lower in women when compared to men.
