Association of socioeconomic status with iodine supply and thyroid disorders in northeast Germany.

TL;DR: Socioeconomic status neither substantially influences iodine supply nor does it have a major impact on the prevalence and incidence of thyroid deficiency-related disorders in the adult population of northeast Germany, indicating a good efficacy of the German iodine fortification program in all socioeconomic groups.

Regional and Neighborhood Disparities in the Odds of Type 2 Diabetes: Results From 5 Population-Based Studies in Germany (DIAB-CORE Consortium)

TL;DR: The odds ratio for type 2 diabetes was highest in eastern Germany and northeastern Germany and lowest in southern Germany and after adjustment for individual variables, respectively, while neighborhood unemployment rates explained a large proportion of regional differences.
