Blood Pressure Control Has Improved in People with and without Type 2 Diabetes but Remains Suboptimal: A Longitudinal Study Based on the German DIAB-CORE Consortium
Ina-Maria Rückert,Jens Baumert,M Schunk,Rolf Holle,Sabine Schipf,Henry Völzke,Alexander Kluttig,K. H. Greiser,Teresa Tamayo,Wolfgang Rathmann,Christa Meisinger +10 more
TL;DR: While hypertension prevalence, awareness and treatment were substantially higher in participants with T1D than in those without T2D at follow-up, hypertension control was achieved only in about half the number of people in each T2d group leaving much room for further improvement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Factors affecting sustainable iodine deficiency elimination in Pakistan: A global perspective.
TL;DR: The aim of this review is to present the current situation in historically iodine-deficient Pakistan regarding iodine nutritional status and place it in a global perspective and suggest that this decline in iodine deficiency disorders may be non-uniform and even over-estimated.
Journal ArticleDOI
A level set based framework for quantitative evaluation of breast tissue density from MRI data.
TL;DR: An automated framework for automated breast density calculation on MRI data has the potential to be applied for the analysis of breast volume and breast density of numerous data in clinical and research settings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of genotyping using pooled DNA samples (allelotyping) and individual genotyping using the affymetrix genome-wide human SNP array 6.0
Alexander Teumer,Florian Ernst,Anja Wiechert,Katharina Uhr,Katharina Uhr,Matthias Nauck,Astrid Petersmann,Henry Völzke,Uwe Völker,Georg Homuth +9 more
TL;DR: A new correction method with high accuracy but low computational costs is developed for improving the estimation of the pooling-specific error and may help in designing allelotyping studies using the Affymetrix Genome-Wide Human SNP Array 6.0.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of serum IGF1 with endothelial function: results from the population-based study of health in Pomerania.
Klaus Empen,Roberto Lorbeer,Henry Völzke,Daniel M. Robinson,Nele Friedrich,Alexander Krebs,Matthias Nauck,Thorsten Reffelmann,Ralf Ewert,Stephan B. Felix,Henri Wallaschofski,Marcus Dörr +11 more
TL;DR: Low serum IGF 1 levels are associated with impaired endothelial function in males and in women, serum IGF1 is not associated with endothelial Function, and there was no association between serum IGFBP3 levels and FMD in both sexes.
