Journal Article
Prognostic relevance of intracytoplasmic cytokeratin pattern, hormone expression profile, and cell proliferation in pituitary adenomas of akromegalic patients.
TL;DR: It is concluded that classification of adenomas of akromegalic patients based on intracytoplasmic CK distribution, combined with examination of proliferative activity, and immunohistochemically defined hormone production profile, provides important prognostic information for the management ofAkromegalics patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Histopathological prognostic factors in medulloblastoma: high expression of survivin is related to unfavourable outcome.
Christine Haberler,Irene Slavc,Thomas Czech,Ellen Gelpi,Harald Heinzl,Herbert Budka,Christian Urban,M. Scarpatetti,G. Ebetsberger-Dachs,C. Schindler,Neil Jones,A. Klein-Franke,Hans Maier,B. Jauk,A. Kiefer,Johannes A. Hainfellner +15 more
TL;DR: The data indicate that high survivin expression is related to unfavourable clinical outcome in medulloblastoma patients, and no other investigated histopathological factors correlated significantly with patient outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vascularization and expression of hypoxia-related tissue factors in intracranial ependymoma and their impact on patient survival
Matthias Preusser,Stefan Wolfsberger,Christine Haberler,Helene Breitschopf,Thomas Czech,Irene Slavc,Adrian L. Harris,Till Acker,Herbert Budka,Johannes A. Hainfellner +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that bizarre vascular pattern, necrosis and high hypoxia score are frequently detectable in intracranial ependymoma, but seem less important for patient outcome than tumor cell proliferation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scientific Opinion on the evaluation of the safety and efficacy of lactic acid for the removal of microbial surface contamination of beef carcasses, cuts and trimmings: EFSA Panel on Biological Hazards (BIOHAZ), EFSA Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes, Flavourings and Processing Aids (CEF), European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), Parma, Italy
Journal ArticleDOI
Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in Austria.
Johannes A. Hainfellner,Kurt A. Jellinger,H. Diringer,Marin Guentchev,R. Kleinert,Pilz P,Hans Maier,Herbert Budka +7 more
TL;DR: The data do not support a link between a rise in incidence of sporadic CJD and BSE, as bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) has not been reported in Austria, and it is concluded that the recent increase in incidence in Austria most likely reflects increased awareness and diagnosis of CJD rather than a real increase.
