Stabilization of p53 by microRNAs in HPV-positive cervical cancer cells
Gustavo Martínez-Noël,Patricia Szajner,Jennifer A. Smith,Kathleen A. Boyland,Rebecca Kramer,Peter M. Howley +5 more
TL;DR: A high-throughput live cell assay to identify molecules that stabilize p53 in HPV-positive cells is developed and the results of a screen carried out examining miRNAs for their abilities to stabilized p53 and induce apoptosis are presented, showing the potential to be used in the treatment of HPV- positive cancers.

A Qualitative Exploration of Barriers to Treatment Among HPV-Positive Women in a Cervical Cancer Screening Study in Western Kenya
Sinéad Isaacson,Konyin Adewumi,Jennifer A. Smith,Carissa Novak,Sandra Y. Oketch,Megan J. Huchko +5 more
TL;DR: Ensure women understand their results and how to seek treatment is essential to improving cervical cancer screening in low-resource settings, and transportation barriers highlight a need for local treatment capacity or screen-and-treat approaches.
