Expression of HLA-DR antigens on epithelium associated with lymphoid tissue in the human gastrointestinal tract.

Jo Spencer, +2 more
- 01 Feb 1986 -
TL;DR: Mucosa from human stomach, terminal ileum, appendix, and colon was studied for epithelial HLA-DR expression using an immunoperoxidase technique with a monoclonal antibody that detects Hla-DR antigens in paraffin embedded tissues to study the relationship between expression and proximity to lymphoid tissue.
Journal ArticleDOI

Activation-Associated Accelerated Apoptosis of Memory B Cells in Critically Ill Patients With Sepsis.

TL;DR: Depletion of the memory B-cell compartment contributes to the immunosuppression induced by sepsis, andTherapies targeted at reversing this immune memory depletion warrant further investigation.
Journal Article

Primary B cell gastric lymphoma. A genotypic analysis.

TL;DR: Light chain-restricted lymphoid proliferation is, in fact, an early stage of frank lymphoma, which obviates the need to use the term pseudolymphoma, and histologic and immunohistochemical features such as light chain restriction clearly discriminate reactive and neoplastic gastric lymphoid infiltration.
Journal ArticleDOI

IgA-Producing Plasma Cells Originate From Germinal Centers That Are Induced by B-Cell Receptor Engagement in Humans

TL;DR: IgA-producing plasma cells appear to be derived from GALT germinal centers in humans, which should be targets of mucosal vaccinations because they are the source of human intestinal IgA response.
