Regenerative and non-regenerative transcriptional states of the human epicardium: from foetus to adult and back again
Vincent Knight-Schrijver,Hongorzul Davaapil,Alexander Ross,Xiaoling He,Ludovic Vallier,Laure Gambardella,Sanjay Sinha +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used single-cell RNA sequencing to compare epicardial cells from both foetal and adult human heart, and found two different cell types, mesothelial and fibroblast-like.
Book ChapterDOI
Inherited Metabolic Disorders of the Liver
TL;DR: This chapter discusses the wide application range of hIPSCs and addresses how this cellular system can meet previous shortcomings in advancing research into the molecular mechanisms of disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
A factor(s) secreted from MIN-6 β-cells stimulates differentiation of definitive endoderm enriched embryonic stem cells towards a pancreatic lineage
Daniela S. Uroić,Grégory Baudouin,Laura A. Ferguson,Hilary M. Docherty,Ludovic Vallier,Kevin Docherty +5 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that beta-cells secrete a factor(s) capable of controlling their own differentiation and maturation, as shown in the mouse.
Oxygen is a critical regulator of cellular metabolism and function in cell culture
Joyce Yin Hsing Tan,Sam Virtue,Dougall M. Norris,Olivia J. Conway,Ming Yang,Christopher Gribben,Fatima Lugtu,James R. Krycer,Richard J. Mills,Ioannis Kamzolas,Conceição Pereira,Martin Dale,Amber S. M. Shun-Shion,Harry J. M. Baird,James A. Horscroft,Alice P. Sowton,Marcella Ma,Stefania Carobbio,Evangelia Petsalaki,Andrew J. Murray,David C. Gershlick,James E. Hudson,Ludovic Vallier,Kelsey H. Fisher-Wellman,Christian Frezza,Antonio Vidal-Puig,Daniel J. Fazakerley +26 more
TL;DR: In this article , pericellular oxygen levels rewired the metabolism of multiple post-mitotic cell lines, both in monolayer and organoid culture, and increased oxygen availability diverted glucose flux toward mitochondria and increased lipogenesis from glucose-derived carbon, and rendered adipocytes more sensitive to insulin and lipolytic stimuli.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fucci2a mouse upgrades live cell cycle imaging.
TL;DR: The generation of a novel mouse reporter named Fucci2a, which aims to address the limitations of previous Fucci mice and offers the potential to investigate the cell cycle dynamics of stem cells and differentiating progenitors both during embryonic development, organ homeostasis and in tissue repair after injury or infections.
