Journal ArticleDOI

Nephrotic Proteinuria Without Hypoalbuminemia: Clinical Characteristics and Response to Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibition

TL;DR: Differences in the antiproteinuric effect of captopril, an antiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, are investigated; after 6 months of treatment, proteinuria decreased clearly in group I, whereas three patients in group II showed a worsening of renal function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Controlled Trial of Losartan Given Concomitantly with Different Doses of Hydrochlorothiazide in Hypertensive Patients

TL;DR: In patients with predominantly moderate to severe essential hypertension, the addition of HCTZ 12.5 mg or 25 mg toLosartan 50 mg produced effective control of blood pressure in a substantial majority of patients who only partially responded to losartan monotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of a low sodium diet on the renal response to amino acid infusions in humans.

TL;DR: The results indicate that the renal hemodynamic effects of amino acid infusion are strongly influenced by angiotensin II and prostaglandin formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term renoprotective effects of standard versus high doses of telmisartan in hypertensive nondiabetic nephropathies

TL;DR: Long-term administration of high doses of telmisartan seems to improve the efficacy of the drug to decrease proteinuria and slow the progression to end-stage renal failure in nondiabetic hypertensive renal disease.
