Journal ArticleDOI

Superconductivity above 130 K in the Hg–Ba–Ca–Cu–O system

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provided support for this conjecture, with the discovery of superconductivity above 130 K in a material containing HgBa2Ca2Cu3O1+x (with three CuO2 layers per unit cell), Hg Ba2CaCu2O6+X (with two O2 layers) and an ordered superstructure comprising a defined sequence of the unit cells of these phases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Light trapping in solar cells: can periodic beat random?

TL;DR: A direct comparison with a cell deposited on the random pyramidal morphology of state-of-the-art zinc oxide electrodes, replicated onto glass using nanoimprint lithography, demonstrates unambiguously that periodic structures rival random textures.
Journal ArticleDOI

{1 0 0}-Textured, piezoelectric Pb(Zrx, Ti1−x)O3 thin films for MEMS: integration, deposition and properties

TL;DR: In this paper, the effective transverse piezoelectric coefficient e(31,f) of sol-gel processed films was investigated as a function of composition, film texture and film thickness.
Journal ArticleDOI

Unusual behavior of the ferroelectric polarization in PbTiO3/SrTiO3 superlattices.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used X-ray diffraction and piezoelectric atomic force microscopy to study the evolution of the ferroelectric polarization as the ratio of PbTiO3 to SrTiO 3 was changed.
