TL;DR: The current state of knowledge of innate and adaptive immune responses elicited by SARS-CoV-2 infection and the immunological pathways that likely contribute to disease severity and death are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tissue-resident macrophages provide a pro-tumorigenic niche to early NSCLC cells.

TL;DR: In this article, single-cell RNA sequencing and imaging of macrophages in human non-small cell lung cancer and in a mouse model of lung adenocarcinoma was performed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Macrophages: a Trojan horse in COVID-19?
TL;DR: Hepcidin production by intestinal DCs in response to microbial signals limits iron levels in the intestinal lumen, which restrains tissue infiltration by the microbiota to promote intestinal repair.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single-cell analysis of human non-small cell lung cancer lesions refines tumor classification and patient stratification.

TL;DR: In this article, a cellular module consisting of PDCD1+CXCL13+ activated T cells, IgG+ plasma cells, and SPP1+ macrophages, referred to as the lung cancer activation module (LCAMhi), was identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immune evasion via SARS-CoV-2 ORF8 protein?
TL;DR: It is shown that expression of ORF8, which directly binds to MHC class I molecules, downregulates their surface expression on HEK293T cells, thereby disrupting antigen presentation in patients recovering from COVID-19.
