NAD(P)H Oxidase Nox-4 Mediates 7-Ketocholesterol-Induced Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress and Apoptosis in Human Aortic Smooth Muscle Cells
Eric Pedruzzi,Cécile Guichard,Véronique Ollivier,Fathi Driss,Michèle Fay,Céline Prunet,Jean-Claude Marie,Cécile Pouzet,Mohammad Samadi,Carole Elbim,Yvonne O'Dowd,Marcelle Bens,Alain Vandewalle,Marie-Anne Gougerot-Pocidalo,Gérard Lizard,Eric Ogier-Denis +15 more
TL;DR: It is shown that 7-ketocholesterol (7-Kchol) induces oxidative stress and/or apoptotic events in human aortic smooth muscle cells (SMCs), which is consistent with the hypothesis that Nox-4/oxysterols are involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinase 1/2 Pathway Is Involved in formyl-Methionyl-Leucyl-Phenylalanine-Induced p47phox Phosphorylation in Human Neutrophils
TL;DR: Results show for the first time that the ERK1/2 pathway participates in the phosphorylation of p47phox and strongly suggest that p 47phox is targeted by several kinase cascades in intact neutrophils activated by fMLP and is therefore a converging point for ERK 1/2 and protein kinase C.
Journal ArticleDOI
NADPH Oxidase 1 Modulates WNT and NOTCH1 Signaling To Control the Fate of Proliferative Progenitor Cells in the Colon
Nicolas Coant,Sanae Ben Mkaddem,Sanae Ben Mkaddem,Eric Pedruzzi,Eric Pedruzzi,Cécile Guichard,Cécile Guichard,Xavier Treton,Xavier Treton,Robert Ducroc,Robert Ducroc,Jean-Noël Freund,Dominique Cazals-Hatem,Yoram Bouhnik,Yoram Bouhnik,Paul-Louis Woerther,David Skurnik,Alain Grodet,Alain Grodet,Michèle Fay,Michèle Fay,Denis Biard,Thécla Lesuffleur,Christine Deffert,Richard Moreau,Richard Moreau,André Groyer,André Groyer,Karl-Heinz Krause,Fanny Daniel,Fanny Daniel,Eric Ogier-Denis,Eric Ogier-Denis +32 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that NADPH oxidase 1 controls the balance between goblet and absorptive cell types in the colon by coordinately modulating PI3K/AKT/Wnt/β-catenin and Notch1 signaling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phosphorylation of the Respiratory Burst Oxidase Subunit p67 phox during Human Neutrophil Activation REGULATION BY PROTEIN KINASE C-DEPENDENT AND INDEPENDENT PATHWAYS
Jamel El Benna,Pham My-Chan Dang,Murielle Gaudry,Michèle Fay,Françoise Morel,Jacques Hakim,Marie-Anne Gougerot-Pocidalo +6 more
TL;DR: Results show that p67 phox is phosphorylated in human neutrophils by different pathways, one of which involves protein kinase C.
Journal ArticleDOI
Priming of human neutrophil respiratory burst by granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) involves partial phosphorylation of p47(phox).
Pham My-Chan Dang,Cedric Dewas,Murielle Gaudry,Michèle Fay,Eric Pedruzzi,Marie-Anne Gougerot-Pocidalo,Jamel El Benna +6 more
TL;DR: Results show that the priming action of GM-CSF on the neutrophil respiratory burst involves partial phosphorylation of p47 phox on specific serines and suggest the involvement of a priming pathway regulated by protein-tyrosine kinase and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase.
