Journal ArticleDOI
Use of BIBW 2992, a novel irreversible EGFR/HER2 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), to treat patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer after failure of treatment with trastuzumab
Tamas Hickish,Duncan Wheatley,Nan Lin,Lisa A. Carey,Stephen Houston,David S. Mendelson,Flavio Solca,Martina Uttenreuther-Fischer,Hilary Jones,EP Winer +9 more
TL;DR: BIBW 2992 at 50 mg/day induced responses and seems promising in HER2-positive breast cancer patients who have failed treatment with trastuzumab.
Journal ArticleDOI
A multi‐analyte cell‐free DNA–based blood test for early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma
Nan Lin,Yongping Lin,Jianfeng Xu,Dan Liu,Diange Li,Hongyu Meng,Maxime A. Gallant,Naoto Kubota,Dhruvajyoti Roy,J. S. Li,Emmanuel C. Gorospe,Morris Sherman,Robert G. Gish,Ghassan K. Abou-Alfa,M. Hong Nguyen,David Taggart,Richard A. Van Etten,Yujin Hoshida,Wei Li +18 more
TL;DR: The HelioLiver Test showed superior performance for HCC detection compared to with both AFP and the GALAD score and warrants further evaluation in HCC surveillance settings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trends in the use of mastectomy in women with small node-negative breast cancer treated at US academic centers
Ines Vaz-Luis,Melissa E. Hughes,Angel M. Cronin,Hope S. Rugo,Stephen B. Edge,Beverly Moy,Richard L. Theriault,Michael J. Hassett,Eric P. Winer,Nan Lin +9 more
TL;DR: Among Stage I breast cancer patients treated at National Comprehensive Cancer Network centers from 2000 to 2009, the overall use of mastectomy did not change significantly over 10 years; however, an increasing proportion of women with unilateral cancer had bilateral mastectomy, and there was wide variation in type of surgery by institution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis among children in China
Weiwei Jiao,Zhiguang Liu,Rui Han,Xiuqin Zhao,Fang Dong,Haiyan Dong,Hai-rong Huang,Qinjing Li,Nan Lin,Wen-qi Song,Kanglin Wan,Adong Shen +11 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the prevalence of drug resistant TB in children in China is alarmingly high and similar to that seen in adults, and major efforts in the TB control in children should focus on decreasing the transmission of drugresistant TB and early testing of drug resistance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Uncovering cortical activations of discourse comprehension and their overlaps with common large-scale neural networks.
Xiaohong Yang,Huijie Li,Nan Lin,Xiuping Zhang,Yin-Shan Wang,Ying Zhang,Qian Zhang,Xi-Nian Zuo,Yufang Yang +8 more
TL;DR: A meta-analysis of 78 task-based functional magnetic resonance imaging studies to reveal underlying brain activations and their overlap with large-scale neural networks in the brain during general discourse comprehension and its sub-processes finds that discourse comprehension relied most heavily on the default network, particularly on its dorsal medial subsystem.
