Metaverse beyond the hype: Multidisciplinary perspectives on emerging challenges, opportunities, and agenda for research, practice and policy
Yogesh K. Dwivedi,Laurie Hughes,Abdullah M. Baabdullah,Samuel Ribeiro-Navarrete,Mihalis Giannakis,Mutaz M. Al-Debei,Denis Dennehy,Bhimaraya A. Metri,Dimitrios Buhalis,Christy M. K. Cheung,Kieran Conboy,Ronan Doyle,Ram Janam Dubey,Vincent Dutot,Reto Felix,Dinesh Goyal,Anders Gustafsson,Chris Hinsch,Ikram Jebabli,Marijn Janssen,Young-Gab Kim,Jooyoung Kim,Stefan Koos,David Kreps,Nir Kshetri,Vikram Kumar,Keng-Boon Ooi,Savvas Papagiannidis,Ilias O. Pappas,Ariana Polyviou,Sang-Min Park,Neeraj Pandey,Maciel M. Queiroz,Ramakrishnan Raman,Philipp A. Rauschnabel,A Ranade Shirish,Marianna Sigala,Konstantina Spanaki,Garry Wei-Han Tan,M. K. Tiwari,Giampaolo Viglia,Samuel Fosso Wamba +41 more
TL;DR: The potential socio-economic impact of a fully functional persistent cross-platform metaverse has been examined in detail by combining the informed narrative and multi-perspective approach from experts with varied disciplinary backgrounds as discussed by the authors .
Journal ArticleDOI
Aggregation of alpha-synuclein by DOPAL, the monoamine oxidase metabolite of dopamine.
William J. Burke,Vijaya B. Kumar,Vijaya B. Kumar,Neeraj Pandey,W. Michael Panneton,Qi Gan,Mark Franko,Mark A. O'Dell,Shu Wen Li,Yi Pan,Hyung D. Chung,James E. Galvin +11 more
TL;DR: DOPAL in physiologically relevant concentrations, triggers AS aggregation in the cell-free system, and in cell cultures resulting in the formation of potentially toxic AS oligomers and aggregates, which support the hypothesis that DA metabolism via DOPAL can cause both DA neuron loss and AS aggregation observed in PD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Curcumin inhibits aggregation of α-synuclein
TL;DR: The data suggest that curcumin inhibits AS oligomerization into higher molecular weight aggregates and therefore should be further explored as a potential therapeutic compound for PD and related disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
The alpha-synuclein mutation E46K promotes aggregation in cultured cells
TL;DR: The results demonstrate that mutations in 4th KTKEGV repeat lead to higher propensity of aggregation of AS compared to other mutants, and are reminiscent of Lewy bodies and pale bodies observed in PD postmortem brain samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metaverse marketing: How the metaverse will shape the future of consumer research and practice
