The Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative: Progress report and future plans
Michael W. Weiner,Michael W. Weiner,Paul S. Aisen,Clifford R. Jack,William J. Jagust,John Q. Trojanowski,Leslie M. Shaw,Andrew J. Saykin,John C. Morris,Nigel J. Cairns,Laurel A. Beckett,Arthur W. Toga,Robert C. Green,Sarah Walter,Holly Soares,Peter J. Snyder,Eric Siemers,William Z. Potter,Patricia E. Cole,Mark E. Schmidt +19 more
TL;DR: Structural MRI shows high rates of brain atrophy, and has high statistical power for determining treatment effects, and ADNI provides significant new information concerning the progression of AD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantitative imaging biomarkers: a review of statistical methods for technical performance assessment.
David Raunig,Lisa M. McShane,Gene Pennello,Constantine Gatsonis,Paul L. Carson,James T. Voyvodic,Richard L. Wahl,Brenda F. Kurland,Adam J. Schwarz,Mithat Gonen,Gudrun Zahlmann,Marina Kondratovich,Kevin O'Donnell,Nicholas Petrick,Patricia E. Cole,Brian S. Garra,Daniel C. Sullivan +16 more
TL;DR: This document provides a consistent framework for the conduct and evaluation of quantitative imaging biomarker performance studies so that results from multiple studies can be compared, contrasted, or combined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Midterm follow-up of penetrating ulcer and intramural hematoma of the aorta
Shawn L. Tittle,Raymond J. Lynch,Patricia E. Cole,Harsimran Singh,John A. Rizzo,Gary S. Kopf,John A. Elefteriades +6 more
TL;DR: Because of the high early rupture rate, the frequency of radiographic worsening, and the documented occurrence of late rupture, it is now recommended surgical replacement of the aorta for these virulent vascular lesions as long as the patient's comorbidities do not preclude surgical intervention.
Journal ArticleDOI
Standardization of analysis sets for reporting results from ADNI MRI data
Bradley T. Wyman,Danielle J Harvey,Karen Crawford,Matt A. Bernstein,Owen Carmichael,Patricia E. Cole,Paul K. Crane,Charles DeCarli,Nick C. Fox,Jeffrey L. Gunter,Derek L. G. Hill,Ronald J. Killiany,Chahin Pachai,Adam J. Schwarz,Norbert Schuff,Matthew L. Senjem,Joyce Suhy,Paul M. Thompson,Michael W. Weiner,Clifford R. Jack +19 more
TL;DR: Standard analysis sets of volumetric scans from ADNI‐1 have been created, comprising screening visits, 2‐year annual completers, and complete visits, and researchers are encouraged to test and report their techniques against these data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Steps to standardization and validation of hippocampal volumetry as a biomarker in clinical trials and diagnostic criterion for Alzheimer's disease
Clifford R. Jack,Frederik Barkhof,Matt A. Bernstein,Marc Cantillon,Patricia E. Cole,Charles DeCarli,Bruno Dubois,Simon Duchesne,Nick C. Fox,Giovanni B. Frisoni,Harald Hampel,Derek L. G. Hill,Keith A. Johnson,Jean Franc¸ois Mangin,Philip Scheltens,Adam J. Schwarz,Reisa A. Sperling,Joyce Suhy,Paul M. Thompson,Michael W. Weiner,Michael W. Weiner,Norman L. Foster +21 more
TL;DR: The European Alzheimer's Disease Centers-Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative hippocampal harmonization effort as a reference standard is described in this paper, and a publicly available reference standard data set based on manual delineation of the hippocampus in an appropriate sample of subjects is established.
