Percutaneous Intervention for Concurrent Chronic Total Occlusions in Patients With STEMI: The EXPLORE Trial
José P.S. Henriques,Loes P. Hoebers,Truls Råmunddal,Peep Laanmets,Erlend Eriksen,Matthijs Bax,Dan Ioanes,Maarten J. Suttorp,Bradley H. Strauss,Emanuele Barbato,Robin Nijveldt,Albert C. van Rossum,Koen M. Marques,Joëlle Elias,Ivo M. van Dongen,Bimmer E. Claessen,Jan G.P. Tijssen,René J. van der Schaaf +17 more
TL;DR: The finding that early CTO PCI in the left anterior descending coronary artery subgroup was beneficial warrants further investigation, and the overall benefit for CTOPCI in terms of LVEF or LVEDV was not found in patients with STEMI and concurrent CTO.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identified seven common principles that are widely accepted as best practices for chronic total occlusion percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in CTO-PCI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dual Antiplatelet Therapy after PCI in Patients at High Bleeding Risk.
Marco Valgimigli,Enrico Frigoli,Dik Heg,Jan G.P. Tijssen,Peter Jüni,Pascal Vranckx,Yukio Ozaki,Marie-Claude Morice,Bernard Chevalier,Yoshinobu Onuma,Stephan Windecker,Pim. A. L. Schultz,Ran Kornowski,Paul Jau Lueng Ong,Mirvat Alasnag,Alfredo E. Rodriguez,Aris Moschovitis,Peep Laanmets,Michael Donahue,Sergio Leonardi,Pieter C. Smits +29 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the appropriate duration of dual antiplatelet therapy in patients at high risk for bleeding after the implantation of a drug-eluting coronary stent remains unclear.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of the REG1 anticoagulation system versus bivalirudin on outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention (REGULATE-PCI): A randomised clinical trial
A. Michael Lincoff,Roxana Mehran,Thomas J. Povsic,Steven L. Zelenkofske,Zhen Huang,Paul W. Armstrong,P. Gabriel Steg,Christoph Bode,Mauricio G. Cohen,Christopher E. Buller,Peep Laanmets,Marco Valgimigli,Toomas Marandi,Viliam Fridrich,Warren J. Cantor,Béla Merkely,Jose Lopez-Sendon,Jan H. Cornel,Jarosław D. Becker,John H. Alexander +32 more
TL;DR: There was no evidence that REG1 reduced ischaemic events or bleeding compared with bivalirudin, and the trial was terminated early after enrolment of 3232 patients due to severe allergic reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anticoagulation With Otamixaban and Ischemic Events in Non–ST-Segment Elevation Acute Coronary Syndromes: The TAO Randomized Clinical Trial
Philippe Gabriel Steg,Shamir R. Mehta,Charles V. Pollack,Christoph Bode,Marc Cohen,William J. French,James W. Hoekstra,Sunil V. Rao,Witold Rużyłło,Juan M. Ruiz-Nodar,Manel Sabaté,Petr Widimsky,Róbert Gábor Kiss,José Luis Navarro Estrada,Hanoch Hod,Prafulla Kerkar,Sema Güneri,Murat Sezer,Mikhail Ruda,Jose C. Fanouillere,Pascal Minini,Elaine B. Hoffman,Angele Moryusef,Stephen D. Wiviott,Marc S. Sabatine +34 more
TL;DR: Otomixaban did not reduce the rate of ischemic events relative to unfractionated heparin plus eptifibatide but did increase bleeding, and these findings do not support the use of otamixaban for patients with NSTE-ACS undergoing planned early percutaneous coronary intervention.
