Journal ArticleDOI
ORAI2 modulates store-operated calcium entry and T cell-mediated immunity.
Martin Vaeth,Jun Yang,Megumi Yamashita,Isabelle Zee,Miriam Eckstein,Camille Knosp,Ulrike Kaufmann,Péter K. Jani,Rodrigo S. Lacruz,Veit Flockerzi,Imre Kacskovics,Murali Prakriya,Stefan Feske +12 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that ORAi1 and Orai2 form heteromeric CRAC channels, in which ORAI2 fine-tunes the magnitude of SOCE to modulate immune responses.
Journal ArticleDOI
SARS-CoV-2 in severe COVID-19 induces a TGF-β-dominated chronic immune response that does not target itself.
Marta Ferreira-Gomes,Andrey Kruglov,Andrey Kruglov,Pawel Durek,Frederik Heinrich,Caroline Tizian,Gitta Anne Heinz,Anna Pascual-Reguant,Weijie Du,Ronja Mothes,Chaofan Fan,Stefan Frischbutter,Katharina Habenicht,Lisa Budzinski,Justus Ninnemann,Péter K. Jani,Gabriela Maria Guerra,Katrin Lehmann,Mareen Matz,Lennard Ostendorf,Lukas Heiberger,Hyun-Dong Chang,Sandy Bauherr,Marcus Maurer,Günther Schönrich,Martin Raftery,Tilmann Kallinich,Marcus A. Mall,Stefan Angermair,Sascha Treskatsch,Thomas Dörner,Victor M. Corman,Andreas Diefenbach,Hans-Dieter Volk,Hans-Dieter Volk,Sefer Elezkurtaj,Thomas Winkler,Jun Dong,Anja E. Hauser,Helena Radbruch,Mario Witkowski,Fritz Melchers,Andreas Radbruch,Mir-Farzin Mashreghi +43 more
TL;DR: In this article, a single cell level analysis of plasmablasts egressed into the blood to study the dynamics of adaptive immune response in COVID-19 patients requiring intensive care.
Journal ArticleDOI
MASP-1 induces a unique cytokine pattern in endothelial cells: a novel link between complement system and neutrophil granulocytes.
Péter K. Jani,Erika Kajdácsi,Márton Megyeri,József Dobó,Zoltán Doleschall,Krisztina Futosi,Csaba I. Timár,Attila Mócsai,Veronika Makó,Péter Gál,László Cervenak +10 more
TL;DR: The results implicate that besides initializing the complement lectin pathway, MASP-1 may activate neutrophils indirectly, via the endothelial cells, which link these effective antimicrobial host defense mechanisms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Functional Roles of the IgM Fc Receptor in the Immune System.
Hiromi Kubagawa,Kazuhito Honjo,Naganari Ohkura,Shimon Sakaguchi,Andreas Radbruch,Fritz Melchers,Péter K. Jani +6 more
TL;DR: Recent findings concerning the functions of FcμR in both mice and humans are described and a model for how Fc μR plays a regulatory role in B cell tolerance is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endothelial cell activation during edematous attacks of hereditary angioedema types I and II.
Erika Kajdácsi,Péter K. Jani,Dorottya Csuka,Lilian Varga,Zoltán Prohászka,Henriette Farkas,László Cervenak +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied whether EC function is altered during HAE attacks in comparison with attack-free intervals, and they found that ECs are activated during HOI attacks, and their activation was even more obvious in patients without any pre-existing risk factors for endothelial dysfunction.
