Journal ArticleDOI

Early post-transplant urinary IP-10 expression after kidney transplantation is predictive of short- and long-term graft function

TL;DR: Evaluated urine data reveal a correlation between elevated IP-10 expression in urine at early time points post-transplantation and intragraft immune activation that leads to acute rejection and compromised long-term graft function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced granulysin mRNA expression in urinary sediment in early and delayed acute renal allograft rejection.

TL;DR: The authors’ data illustrate that the noninvasive kinetic mRNA expression measurement of defined markers in urinary cells of renal allograft recipients allows the early nonin invasive detection of ongoing aRx.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heightened expression of the cytotoxicity receptor NKG2D correlates with acute and chronic nephropathy after kidney transplantation.

TL;DR: Elevated levels of NKG2D mRNA expression were associated with restricted long‐term graft function assessed by the glomerular filtration rate at 6, 12 and 18 months posttransplantation, suggesting this receptor as a new candidate marker for the diagnosis of acute and chronic allograft rejection.
