The CNRM-CM5.1 global climate model: description and basic evaluation

TL;DR: A new version of the general circulation model CNRM-CM has been developed jointly by CNRMs-GAME (Centre National de Recherches Meteorologiques-Groupe d'etudes de l’Atmosphere Meteorologique) and Cerfacs as discussed by the authors in order to contribute to phase 5 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP5).
Journal ArticleDOI

Biophysical climate impacts of recent changes in global forest cover

Ramdane Alkama, +1 more
- 05 Feb 2016 -
TL;DR: An observation-driven assessment of the climate impacts of recent forest losses and gains, based on Earth observations of global forest cover and land surface temperatures, shows that forest losses amplify the diurnal temperature variation and increase the mean and maximum air temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Satellites reveal contrasting responses of regional climate to the widespread greening of Earth

TL;DR: Satellite observations and remotely sensed dynamics in leaf area index reveal that the recent dynamics in global vegetation have had relevant biophysical impacts on the local climates and should be considered in the design of local mitigation and adaptation plans.
