Eosinophilic esophagitis: Updated consensus recommendations for children and adults
Chris A. Liacouras,Glenn T. Furuta,Ikuo Hirano,Dan Atkins,Stephen Attwood,Peter A Bonis,A. Wesley Burks,Mirna Chehade,Margaret H. Collins,Evan S. Dellon,Ranjan Dohil,Gary W. TL;DR: A new conceptual definition is proposed highlighting that EoE represents a chronic, immune/antigen-mediated disease characterized clinically by symptoms related to esophageal dysfunction and histologically by eosinophil-predominant inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Updated International Consensus Diagnostic Criteria for Eosinophilic Esophagitis: Proceedings of the AGREE Conference.

Wershil,Ting Wen,Guang Yu Yang,Ikuo Hirano,Albert J. Bredenoord +65 more
TL;DR: An updated diagnostic algorithm for EoE was developed, with removal of the PPI trial requirement, and the evidence suggests that PPIs are better classified as a treatment for esophageal eosinophilia that may be due to EOE than as a diagnostic criterion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Esophageal remodeling in pediatric eosinophilic esophagitis
TL;DR: Pediatric patients withEE demonstrate increased fibrosis, vascularity, and vascular activation in the esophagus that may contribute to stricture formation and potentially provide a basis for stratifying patients with EE on the basis of disease severity and/or prognosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oral Viscous Budesonide Is Effective in Children With Eosinophilic Esophagitis in a Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Trial
TL;DR: OVB improves symptoms and endoscopic and histologic features in children with EoE, and proton pump inhibitor single therapy did not significantly improve esophageal eosinophilia or symptoms of EeE.
Journal ArticleDOI
Resolution of remodeling in eosinophilic esophagitis correlates with epithelial response to topical corticosteroids.
Seema S. Aceves,Robert O. Newbury,Diana Chen,James L. Mueller,Ranjan Dohil,Hal M. Hoffman,John F. Bastian,David H. Broide +7 more
TL;DR: The objective was to establish whether or not the components of remodeling in the subepithelium are reversible by administration of topical oral corticosteroids in patients with eosinophilic esophagitis.
