Molecular determinants of human neutralizing antibodies isolated from a patient infected with Zika virus
Qihui Wang,Huabing Yang,Huabing Yang,Xiaoqing Liu,Lianpan Dai,Tong Ma,Tong Ma,Jianxun Qi,Gary Wong,Ruchao Peng,Sheng Liu,Sheng Liu,Junfu Li,Shihua Li,Jian Song,Jianying Liu,Jianhua He,Hui Yuan,Ying Xiong,Yong Liao,Jianhua Li,Jianping Yang,Zhou Tong,Bryan D. Griffin,Bryan D. Griffin,Yuhai Bi,Mifang Liang,Xiao-Ning Xu,Chuan Qin,Gong Cheng,Xinzheng Zhang,Peiyi Wang,Xiangguo Qiu,Xiangguo Qiu,Gary P. Kobinger,Yi Shi,Jinghua Yan,George F. Gao +37 more
TL;DR: The isolation of 13 specific human monoclonal antibodies from a patient infected with Zika virus suggest the potential of antibody-based therapeutics and provide a structure-based rationale for the design of future ZIKV-specific vaccines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural and Biochemical Characterization of the nsp12-nsp7-nsp8 Core Polymerase Complex from SARS-CoV-2.
Qi Peng,Ruchao Peng,Bin Yuan,Jingru Zhao,Min Wang,Xixi Wang,Qian Wang,Yan Sun,Zheng Fan,Jianxun Qi,George F. Gao,Yi Shi +11 more
TL;DR: The near-atomic resolution structure of the SARS-CoV-2 polymerase complex, consisting of nsp12 catalytic subunit and nsp7-nsp8 cofactors, is described, providing important insights into RNA synthesis by coronavirus polymerase and indicate a well adaptation of Sars-Cov-2 towards humans with relatively lower body temperatures than the natural bat hosts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cryo-EM Structure of the African Swine Fever Virus
Sheng Liu,Sheng Liu,Yuzi Luo,Yajuan Wang,Shihua Li,Zhennan Zhao,Yuhai Bi,Junqing Sun,Ruchao Peng,Hao Song,Dongjie Zhu,Yuan Sun,Su Li,Li Zhang,Wei Wang,Yeping Sun,Jianxun Qi,Jinghua Yan,Yi Shi,Xinzheng Zhang,Peiyi Wang,Hua-Ji Qiu,George F. Gao +22 more
TL;DR: The cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) structure of the icosahedral capsid of ASFV at 4.6-Å is described, providing a comprehensive molecular model of the AsFV capsid architecture that will contribute to the future development of countermeasures, including vaccines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cell entry by SARS-CoV-2.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the recent advances in understanding the molecular events during SARS-CoV-2 entry which will contribute to developing vaccines and therapeutics, and discuss some auxiliary receptors and cofactors are also involved that expand the host/tissue tropism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Human Neonatal Fc Receptor Is the Cellular Uncoating Receptor for Enterovirus B
Xin Zhao,Guigen Zhang,Sheng Liu,Xiangpeng Chen,Ruchao Peng,Lianpan Dai,Xiao Qu,Shihua Li,Hao Song,Zhengrong Gao,Pengfei Yuan,Zhiheng Liu,Changyao Li,Zifang Shang,Yan Li,Meifan Zhang,Jianxun Qi,Han Wang,Ning Du,Yan Wu,Yuhai Bi,Shan Gao,Yi Shi,Jinghua Yan,Yong Zhang,Zhengde Xie,Wensheng Wei,George F. Gao +27 more
TL;DR: Cryo-electron microscopy structures revealed that human neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) is the uncoating receptor for major EV-B, providing a structural basis for understanding the mechanisms of enterovirus entry.
