Crow +50 more
TL;DR: Mutations in SAMHD1 are described as the cause of Aicardi-Goutières syndrome at the AGS5 locus and data is presented to show that SAM HD1 may act as a negative regulator of the cell-intrinsic antiviral response.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel Mutations within the POU1F1 Gene Associated with Variable Combined Pituitary Hormone Deficiency
James P. G. Turton,Rachel Reynaud,Ameeta Mehta,John Torpiano,Alexandru Saveanu,Kathryn S. Woods,Anatoly Tiulpakov,Vera Zdravkovic,Jill Hamilton,Simon Attard-Montalto,Ray Parascandalo,Cecil Vella,Peter E. Clayton,Stephen M Shalet,John Barton,Thierry Brue,Mehul T. Dattani +16 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that the phenotype associated with POU1F1 mutations may be more variable, with the occasional preservation of TSH secretion, and reflects the importance of mutational analysis in patients with CPHD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of Continuous Pain in Newborns admitted to NICUs in 18 European Countries
Kanwaljeet J. S. Anand,Mats Eriksson,Elaine M. Boyle,Alejandro Avila-Alvarez,Randi Dovland Andersen,Kosmas Sarafidis,Tarja Pölkki,C. Matos,Paola Lago,T. TL;DR: Continuous pain occurs routinely, even after invasive procedures, or inflammation and surgery, but clinical practices associated with assessments of continuous pain remain unknown.
Journal ArticleDOI
How reliable is axillary temperature measurement
TL;DR: Axillary temperature measurements were significantly lower than both oral and rectal temperature measurements, and the mean difference increased with increasing temperature, and was 0.4°C at low body temperatures, and over 1°C with a fever of 39°C.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunogenicity of reduced dose priming schedules of serogroup C meningococcal conjugate vaccine followed by booster at 12 months in infants: open label randomised controlled trial
David Pace,Ameneh Khatami,Jennifer McKenna,Danielle Campbell,Simon Attard-Montalto,Jacqueline Birks,Merryn Voysey,Catherine White,Adam Finn,Emma Macloed,Saul N. Faust,Alison Kent,Paul T. Heath,Ray Borrow,Matthew D. Snape,Andrew J. Pollard +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the immunogenicity of a single dose infant priming schedule of serogroup C meningococcal (MenC) conjugate vaccine is compared to a two-dose priming scheme when followed by a booster dose at age 12 months.
