Nanostructured semiconductors for optoelectronic applications
Johann Peter Reithmaier,S. Deubert,Andre Somers,Wolfgang Kaiser,Sven Höfling,Andreas Löffler,Stefan Reitzenstein,Grzegorz Sęk,C. Hofmann,Martin Kamp,Alfred Forchel +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a brief review is given about recent advances of our research group related to nanostructured semiconductors for optoelectronic applications, which are realized by mainly two techniques, i.e., direct patterning by lithography and etching as well as by utilizing self-organisation effects during epitaxial growth processes.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Coherent dynamics of one and two-photon states in a strongly coupled single quantum dot-cavity system
Jacek Kasprzak,Wolfgang Werner Langbein,Stephan Reitzenstein,C. Kistner,Christian Schneider,M. Strauss,Sven Höfling,Alfred Forchel +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the coherent dynamics of one and two photon states are directly observed and the validity of the Janes-Cummings model is tested using the Heterodyne spectral interferometry (HSEI) method.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Widely-tunable interband cascade lasers for the mid-infrared
M. von Edlinger,Julian Scheuermann,Robert Weih,L. Nähle,M. Fischer,Sven Höfling,Johannes Koeth,M. Kamp +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a monolithic widely tunable DFB laser device in the 3.6 μm wavelength region based on interband cascade laser material is presented, where the concept of binary superimposed (BSG) grating structures and two-segment Vernier-tuning is realized at discrete wavelength channels in the 3560 nm to 3620 nm region.

Proceedings ArticleDOI
Topological insulator vertically-emitting laser array
Alex Dikopoltsev,Tristan H. Harder,Eran Lustig,Oleg A. Egorov,Johannes Beierlein,A. Wolf,Monika Emmerling,Christian Schneider,Sven Höfling,Mordechai Segev,Sebastian Klembt +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the first experimental demonstration of a topological insulator VCSEL array is presented, consisting of 30 emitters, emitting in a single frequency, displaying interference proving that the emitters act as a single laser.
