Lina Levin,Lina Levin,Maura McLaughlin,Glenn Jones,James M. Cordes,Daniel R. Stinebring,Shami Chatterjee,Timothy Dolch,Timothy Dolch,Michael T. Lam,T. Joseph W. Lazio,Nipuni Palliyaguru,Zaven Arzoumanian,Kathryn Crowter,Paul Demorest,Justin A. Ellis,Robert D. Ferdman,Emmanuel Fonseca,Marjorie Gonzalez,Marjorie Gonzalez,Megan L. Jones,David J. Nice,Timothy T. Pennucci,Scott M. Ransom,Ingrid H. Stairs,Ingrid H. Stairs,Kevin Stovall,Joseph K. Swiggum,Weiwei Zhu,Weiwei Zhu +29 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors extracted scintillation parameters for pulsars observed by the NANOGrav radio pulsar timing program and derived interstellar scattering-based transverse velocities assuming a scattering screen halfway between the pulsar and earth.
Journal ArticleDOI
The NANOGrav Nine-year Data Set: Excess Noise in Millisecond Pulsar Arrival Times
Michael T. Lam,Michael T. Lam,James M. Cordes,Shami Chatterjee,Zaven Arzoumanian,Kathryn Crowter,Paul Demorest,Timothy Dolch,Justin A. Ellis,Robert D. Ferdman,Robert D. Ransom,Ryan Shannon,Ryan Shannon,X. Siemens,Ingrid H. Stairs,Kevin Stovall,Kevin Stovall,Joseph K. Swiggum,Wei Zhu +30 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify noise in timing residuals that exceeds that predicted for arrival time estimation for MSPs observed by the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves.
Journal ArticleDOI
The NANOGrav Nine-year Data Set: Astrometric Measurements of 37 Millisecond Pulsars
A. M. Matthews,A. M. Matthews,David J. Nice,Emmanuel Fonseca,Zaven Arzoumanian,Kathryn Crowter,Paul Demorest,Timothy Dolch,Timothy Dolch,Justin A. Ellis,Robert D. Ferdman,Marjorie Gonzalez,Marjorie Gonzalez,Glenn Jones,Megan L. Jones,Michael T. Lam,Lina Levin,Lina Levin,Maura McLaughlin,Timothy T. Pennucci,Scott M. Ransom,Ingrid H. Stairs,Ingrid H. Stairs,Kevin Stovall,Joseph K. Swiggum,Weiwei Zhu,Weiwei Zhu +26 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the positions, proper motions, and parallaxes for 37 millisecond pulsars and compared these measurements to distances predicted by the NE2001 interstellar electron density model and found them to be in general agreement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Swiggum,Stephen Taylor,Michael Tripepi,Michael Tripepi,Michele Vallisneri,Sarah J. Vigeland,Caitlin A. Witt,Weiwei Zhu +78 more
TL;DR: Alam et al. as mentioned in this paper presented a new analysis of the profile data from the 47 millisecond pulsars comprising the 12.5 yr data set of the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves, which is performed using "wideband"timing methods, which use frequency-dependent template profiles, simultaneous time-of-arrival (TOA) and dispersion measure (DM) measurements from broadband observations, and novel analysis techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
The NANOGrav Nine-year Data Set: Noise Budget for Pulsar Arrival Times on Intraday Timescales
Michael T. Lam,J. M. Cordes,Shami Chatterjee,Zaven Arzoumanian,Kathryn Crowter,Paul Demorest,Timothy Dolch,Timothy Dolch,Justin A. Ellis,Robert D. Ferdman,Emmanuel Fonseca,Marjorie Gonzalez,Marjorie Gonzalez,Glenn Jones,Megan L. Jones,Lina Levin,Lina Levin,Dustin R. Madison,Dustin R. Madison,Maura McLaughlin,David J. Nice,Timothy T. Pennucci,Timothy T. Pennucci,Scott M. Ransom,X. Siemens,Ingrid H. Stairs,Ingrid H. Stairs,Kevin Stovall,Joseph K. Swiggum,Joseph K. Swiggum,Weiwei Zhu,Weiwei Zhu +31 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess contributions to the total variance from two additional effects: amplitude and phase jitter intrinsic to single pulses and changes in the interstellar impulse response from scattering.
