Book ChapterDOI
Computational modeling of ultrasonically assisted turning
TL;DR: In this article, high frequency vibration (frequency f ≈ 20 kHz, amplitude a ≈ 15 µm) is superimposed on the movement of the cutting tool to reduce cutting forces.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quasi-static and dynamic deformation behaviour of Zr-based bulk metallic glass
TL;DR: In this article, the deformation of a Zr-based bulk metallic glass (BMG) was investigated with nanoindentation tests using a spherical indenter, where the indentation cycle reflects an elastic deformation with the yielding load of approx. 3 mN.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Magneto-forming studies
T. Alotaibi,Bucur M. Novac,Peter Senior,Ivor R. Smith,Vahid Nekouie,Anish Roy,Vadim V. Silberschmidt +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, preliminary experimental studies of magneto-forming technology, undertaken at Loughborough University and using the existing 2 MA/100 kJ Quattro capacitor bank as power supply, are described.
Journal ArticleDOI
In silico evaluation of additively manufactured 316L stainless steel stent in a patient-specific coronary artery.
Ran He,Enzoh Langi,Rebecca Garrard,Moataz M. Attallah,Vadim V. Silberschmidt,Felix Vogt,Liguo Zhao +6 more
TL;DR: In this article , the effects of surface irregularities and dimension discrepancy of a 316L stainless steel stent, manufactured using laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), on its biomechanical performance, in comparison with the original design and a commercial stent.
