Tsung,Gino Soldati,Roberto Copetti,Belaid Bouhemad,Angelika Reissig,Eustachio Agricola,Jean-Jacques Rouby,Charlotte Arbelot,Andrew S. Liteplo,Ashot E. Sargsyan,Fernando Silva,Richard Hoppmann,Raoul Breitkreutz,Armin Seibel,Luca Neri,Enrico Storti,Tomislav Petrovic +27 more
TL;DR: This document reflects the overall results of the first consensus conference on “point-of-care” lung ultrasound and utilizes the RAND appropriateness method for panel judgment and decisions/consensus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Focused Cardiac Ultrasound in the Emergent Setting: A Consensus Statement of the American Society of Echocardiography and American College of Emergency Physicians
Arthur J. Labovitz,Vicki E. Noble,Michelle Bierig,Steven A. Goldstein,Robert Jones,Smadar Kort,Thomas R. Porter,Kirk T. Spencer,Vivek S. Tayal,Kevin Wei +9 more
TL;DR: In the emergency department, focused cardiac ultrasound has become a fundamental tool to expedite the diagnostic evaluation of the patient at the bedside and to initiate emergent treatment and triage decisions by the emergency physician.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrasonography versus computed tomography for suspected nephrolithiasis
Rebecca Smith-Bindman,Chandra Aubin,John Bailitz,R. N. Bengiamin,Carlos A. Camargo,J. Corbo,Anthony J. Dean,Ruth B. Goldstein,Richard T. Griffey,Gregory D. Jay,Tarina Lee Kang,Dana R. Kriesel,O. J. Stoller,Victoria Valencia,Jessica Wang,Ralph C. Wang,Steve Cummings +28 more
TL;DR: Initial ultrasonography was associated with lower cumulative radiation exposure than initial CT, without significant differences in high-risk diagnoses with complications, serious adverse events, pain scores, return emergency department visits, hospitalizations, or hospitalizations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlation of optic nerve sheath diameter with direct measurement of intracranial pressure.
TL;DR: Using an ROC curve the authors systematically confirmed the commonly used threshold of ONSD > 5 mm to detect ICP > 20 cm H2O and provides further support for the use of OnSD measurements as a noninvasive test for elevated ICP.
Journal ArticleDOI
