Hormone Activity of Hydroxylated Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers on Human Thyroid Receptor-β: In Vitro and In Silico Investigations

TL;DR: Hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions between HO-PBDEs and TRβ are important factors governing thyroid hormone activities, and the developed QSAR model had good robustness, predictive ability, and mechanism interpretability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Insights into aquatic toxicities of the antibiotics oxytetracycline and ciprofloxacin in the presence of metal: complexation versus mixture.

TL;DR: Toxicity analysis indicated that metal coordination did modify the toxicity of the antibiotics and that antibiotic, metal, and their complex acted primarily as concentration addition, and environmental scenario analysis demonstrated that ignoring complexation would improperly classify environmental risks of the antibiotic.
Journal ArticleDOI

CoMPARA: Collaborative Modeling Project for Androgen Receptor Activity.

Kamel Mansouri, +73 more
TL;DR: The Collaborative Modeling Project for Androgen Receptor Activity (CoMPARA) efforts are described, which follows the steps of the Collaborative Estrogen Recept Activity Prediction Project (CERAPP).
Journal ArticleDOI

Aquatic toxicity of nanosilver colloids to different trophic organisms: Contributions of particles and free silver ion

TL;DR: The toxicity of the nAg in the form of colloids decreased in the order DIS-nAg, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)-coated nAg as well as a monodispersed nAg with a dispersant (dis) for all three trophic aquatic organisms, implying that free Ag(+) cannot be neglected in explaining the toxicity of nAg colloids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Occurrence, distribution and ecological risks of antibiotics and pesticides in coastal waters around Liaodong Peninsula, China

TL;DR: In this study, 13 antibiotics and 15 pesticides were screened in coastal waters around the Liaodong Peninsula, China and atrazine and acetochlor showed relatively higher risks to aquatic organisms.
