Holmes,Erik Ingelsson,Anders Mälarstig,Anders Mälarstig +91 more
TL;DR: The utility of large-scale mapping of the genetics of the proteome is demonstrated and pQTLs are provided as a resource for future precision studies of circulating proteins in human health.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sugar-sweetened beverage consumption and genetic predisposition to obesity in 2 Swedish cohorts
Louise Brunkwall,Yan Chen,George Hindy,Gull Rukh,Ulrika Ericson,Inês Barroso,Ingegerd Johansson,Paul W. Franks,Marju Orho-Melander,Frida Renström +9 more
TL;DR: The interaction observed in the Swedish cohorts is similar in magnitude to the previous analysis in US cohorts and indicates that the relation of SSB intake and BMI is stronger in people genetically predisposed to obesity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Genetic and Nongenetic Factors on Total and Bioavailable 25(OH)D Responses to Vitamin D Supplementation.
Pang Yao,Liang Sun,Ling Lu,Hong Ding,Xiafei Chen,Lixin Tang,Xinming Xu,Gang Liu,Yao Hu,Yiwei Ma,Feijie Wang,Qianlu Jin,He Zheng,Huiyong Yin,Rong Zeng,Yan Chen,Frank B. Hu,Huaixing Li,Xu Lin +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated factors modifying 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D) and bioavailable 25(OH)D (25 [OH]DBio) responses after vitamin D3 supplementation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide association studies using haplotypes and individual SNPs in Simmental cattle.
Yang Wu,Huizhong Fan,Yanhui Wang,Lupei Zhang,Xue Gao,Yan Chen,Junya Li,Hongyan Ren,Huijiang Gao +8 more
TL;DR: This study constructed the haplotype structure in the bovine genome and detected relevant genes genuinely affecting a carcass trait and a meat quality trait and detected similar regions and common SNPs for these two representative traits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Searching for new loci and candidate genes for economically important traits through gene-based association analysis of Simmental cattle.
Jiangwei Xia,Huizhong Fan,Tianpeng Chang,Lingyang Xu,Wengang Zhang,Yuxin Song,Bo Zhu,Lupei Zhang,Xue Gao,Yan Chen,Junya Li,Huijiang Gao +11 more
TL;DR: An initial single-SNP GWAS for bone weight (BW) and meat pH value with a total of 770,000 SNPs in 1141 Simmental cattle showed that there were 11 SNPs significantly associated with bone weight and two SNPs associated with meat pHvalue, Interestingly, all of these SNPs were located in genes detected by the gene-based association study.
