Journal ArticleDOI
Range of antinuclear antibodies in "healthy" individuals
Eng M. Tan,T. E. W. Feltkamp,Josef S. Smolen,Brian T. Butcher,Roger L. Dawkins,Marvin J. Fritzler,Tom P. Gordon,John A. Hardin,Joachim R. Kalden,Robert G. Lahita,Ravinder N. Maini,J. S. McDougal,Naomi F. Rothfield,Ruud J.T. Smeenk,Yoshinari Takasaki,Allan Wiik,Merlin R. Wilson,James A. Koziol +17 more
TL;DR: It is recommended that laboratories performing immunofluorescent ANA tests should report results at both the 1:40 and 1:160 dilutions, and should supply information on the percentage of normal individuals who are positive at these dilutions.
Journal ArticleDOI
A nuclear antigen associated with cell proliferation and blast transformation.
TL;DR: The relationship of PCNA to proliferation and blast transformation may be associated with events related to DNA synthesis in these cells and the autoantibody was used as a reagent to determine the distribution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sex-specific association of X-linked Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) with male systemic lupus erythematosus
Nan Shen,Qiong Fu,Qiong Fu,Yun Deng,Yun Deng,Xiaoxia Qian,Zhao Jian,Kenneth M. Kaufman,Yee Ling Wu,C. Yung Yu,Yuanjia Tang,Ji Yih Chen,Wanling Yang,Maida Wong,Aya Kawasaki,Naoyuki Tsuchiya,Takayuki Sumida,Yasushi Kawaguchi,Hwee Siew Howe,Mo Yin Mok,So Young Bang,Fei Lan Liu,Deh Ming Chang,Yoshinari Takasaki,Hiroshi Hashimoto,John B. Harley,Joel M. Guthridge,Jennifer M. Grossman,Rita M. Cantor,Yeong Wook Song,Sang Cheol Bae,Shunle Chen,Bevra H. Hahn,Yu-Lung Lau,Betty P. Tsao +34 more
TL;DR: A functional polymorphism in type I IFN pathway gene TLR7 predisposing to SLE is established, especially in Chinese and Japanese male subjects, with a stronger effect in male than female subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI
High diagnostic performance of ELISA detection of antibodies to citrullinated antigens in rheumatoid arthritis.
K Suzuki,Tetsuji Sawada,A Murakami,Toshihiro Matsui,S Tohma,K Nakazono,M Takemura,Yoshinari Takasaki,Tsuneyo Mimori,Kazuhiko Yamamoto +9 more
TL;DR: ELISA detection of antibodies to citrullinated antigens, especially a second generation anti‐CCP, showed higher discriminative ability than other assays, including RF, and would be useful to aid the diagnosis of RA in clinical practice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-DFS70 antibodies in 597 healthy hospital workers
Akihiro Watanabe,Masanari Kodera,Kazumitsu Sugiura,Toshikazu Usuda,Eng M. Tan,Yoshinari Takasaki,Yasushi Tomita,Yoshinao Muro +7 more
TL;DR: Considering that anti-DFS70 antibody positivity is rare in patients with systemic autoimmune diseases, introducing the anti-DFS70 antibody examination as a screening test for ANA-positive persons could be used to rule out systemic autoimmune Diseases, resulting in considerable cost-saving potential.
