TL;DR: In this paper, a general modeling approach for optimal planning of energy systems subject to carbon and land footprint constraints is described, which makes use of the source-sink framework derived from analogies with resource conservation networks used in process integration.

TL;DR: The proposed automated targeting technique is extended to determine the targets for RCNs with interception placement to identify minimum fresh resource flow rate/cost targets in a resource conservation network (RCN) with material reuse/recycle.
Abstract: Part 1 of this pair of articles presents an automated targeting technique to identify minimum fresh resource flow rate/cost targets in a resource conservation network (RCN) with material reuse/recycle. After the potential for conservation through direct reuse/recycle is exhausted, fresh resource consumption can be further reduced by incorporating waste-interception (regeneration) processes. Hence, the proposed automated targeting technique in part 1 of this pair of articles is extended to determine the targets for RCNs with interception placement. The waste-interception systems are modeled as treatment processes with either fixed outlet concentrations or fixed impurity load removal ratios. The approach also distinguishes between single-pass and partitioning regenerators, which have different implications for RCNs. Literature examples and industrial cases are solved to illustrate the proposed approach.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper explored the challenges posed in the development and deployment of 3D printing and focused on China, which is still the main manufacturing hub of the world, and uncovered the obstacles that resist mass-scale applications of 3DP.

TL;DR: Correlational analysis between thinking styles and grade point average showed that thinking styles are related to academic achievement, consistent with the general provisions of the theory.
Abstract: The authors' objective in this study was to determine whether the precepts of R. J. Sternberg's (1988, 1997) theory of mental self-government apply to a non-West- ern culture. They administered R. J. Sternberg and R. K. Wagner's (1992) Thinking Styles Inventory, which is based on the theory of mental self-government, to 429 Filipino uni- versity students. The results of item analysis, scale intercorrelations, and factor analysis were consistent with the general provisions of the theory. Correlational analysis between thinking styles and grade point average showed that thinking styles are related to acade- mic achievement. The results are explained with respect to the concepts and practices of Philippine culture and schools and discussed in relation to the developmental assumptions of the theory of mental self-government.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present algebraic targeting techniques for energy sector planning with carbon (CO2) emission and land availability constraints, which was originally developed for resource conservation network is extended to determine targets or benchmarks for both of these problems.
