TL;DR: In this paper, a simple method is proposed to transform the PSHE from momentum space to position space by rational design of the optical path through two identical Pancharatnam-Berry phase metasurfaces.
Abstract: Photonic spin Hall effect (PSHE) in momentum space can lead to a giant spin-dependent splitting (SDS). However, the SDS in momentum space increases linearly with beam propagation distance, which limits its applications. In this work, a simple method is proposed to transform the PSHE from momentum space to position space. We first theoretically analyze the feasibility of the transformation. The results show that the transformation can be realized when a light wave passes through two identical Pancharatnam–Berry phase metasurfaces. Then an experimental setup is established to verify the theoretical results. Through rational design of the optical path, only one metasurface is needed to complete the transformation of PSHE from momentum space to position space. The experimental results agree well with theoretical calculations. We believe that these results are helpful for the design of photonics devices based on PSHE.

TL;DR: A smoothing SQP algorithm is proposed for solving a new class of optimization problems arising from power systems, known as nonlinear programs with stability constraints (NPSC), and the global convergence of algorithm is established.
Abstract: This paper investigates a new class of optimization problems arising from power systems, known as nonlinear programs with stability constraints (NPSC), which is an extension of ordinary nonlinear programs. Since the stability constraint is described generally by eigenvalues or norm of Jacobian matrices of systems, this results in the semismooth property of NPSC problems. The optimal conditions of both NPSC and its smoothing problem are studied. A smoothing SQP algorithm is proposed for solving such optimization problem. The global convergence of algorithm is established. A numerical example from optimal power flow (OPF) is done. The computational results show efficiency of the new model and algorithm.

TL;DR: Some sufficient and realistic conditions for the existence of positive periodic solution of a general neutral impulsive -species competitive model with feedback control are acquired by applying some analysis techniques and a new existence theorem, which is different from Gaines and Mawhin's continuation theorem and abstract continuation theory for -set contraction.
Abstract: We acquire some sufficient and realistic conditions for the existence of positive periodic solution of a general neutral impulsive -species competitive model with feedback control by applying some analysis techniques and a new existence theorem, which is different from Gaines and Mawhin's continuation theorem and abstract continuation theory for -set contraction. As applications, we also examine some special cases, which have been studied extensively in the literature, some known results are improved and generalized.

TL;DR: This paper investigates the dynamical behaviors of a novel class of Cohen-Grossberg neural networks with not only mixed time delays, i.e., time varying delays and distributed delays, but also discontinuous activations, which may be unbounded or nonmonotonic.
