TL;DR: A new logical combination method of generalized Feistel structure and ARX operations is proposed to improve the diffusion speed of ARX ciphers, called Shadow, which is compact in IoT nodes and is of high security against cryptanalysis.
Abstract: The advancement of the Internet of Things (IoT) has promoted the rapid development of low-power and multifunctional sensors. However, it is seriously significant to ensure the security of data transmission of these nodes. Meanwhile, sensor nodes have the characteristics of converting analog signals into digital signals for operation processing in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Given the particularity of Addition or AND, Rotation, and XOR (ARX) operations, its round function can only be based on the Feistel structure or generalized Feistel structure, otherwise, the process of decryption cannot be completed correctly. Furthermore, the existing ARX ciphers have the problems of only changing half of the plaintext block in one round and iterating for many rounds. In this article, a new logical combination method of generalized Feistel structure and ARX operations is proposed to improve the diffusion speed of ARX ciphers, called Shadow. Shadow overcomes the shortcomings of traditional ARX ciphers that only diffuse half of the block in one round. To ensure the efficiency of the encryption hardware circuit while ensuring the security of the physical-layer signal, we studied the round-based hardware architecture and the serial hardware architecture for Shadow cipher. Particularly, we conducted a series of performance tests on Shadow, including the avalanche effect, FPGA implementation, and ASIC implementation. Also, we conducted a security analysis of the Shadow. As shown by our experiments and comparisons, Shadow is compact in IoT nodes and is of high security against cryptanalysis.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the dense coding of multi-atom entangled states in cavity QED and proposed a feasible protocol for entanglement concentration, and the efficiency of information transmitted is calculated.
Abstract: Dense coding of multi-atom entangled states in cavity QED is studied. If the quantum channel is generalized GHZ states, dense coding can be directly realized in a simply way. As for the partially entangled pure states, we propose a feasible protocol for entanglement concentration, and the efficiency of information transmitted is calculated. The schemes are insensitive to the cavity decay and the field state, due to the fact that the interaction here is a large-detuned one between atoms and the cavity.

TL;DR: Zhang et al. as discussed by the authors proposed a symbolization method of traditional landscape gene of traditional settlements (SM-CLGTS) based on the concept of Symbolization Method of CLGTS, and developed a prototype system of the Traditional Landscape Genetic Symbol Database (TLGSD) to create and centrally manage traditional landscape symbols.
Abstract: China has a deep traditional culture and a long history, and is rich in traditional settlements (designated as “Famous Historic-Cultural Villages/Towns”, “Chinese Traditional Villages” by Chinese Government). To help people develop these traditional settlements to achieve the great goal of Chinese National Rejuvenation, Chinese scholar put forward the Cultural Landscape Genes of Traditional Settlements (CLGTS) in 2003. Since then, CLGTS theory has been employed to solve the issues of Chinese traditional settlements, such as the identification and regionalization of cultural landscape genes in traditional settlements, and the understanding of architectural features. Although CLGTS theory has made great strides in many application fields, there is still a lack of scientific findings in exploring the symbol mechanism from a perspective of semiotics. To explore this, we firstly examined the core features of CLGTS through a dialectical perspective. We analyzed two features of CLGTS in depth. First, CLGTS is the dialectical combination of macro settlement image and micro cultural factors of traditional settlements, material appearance and inherent traditional cultural implications, overall features and local self-renewal mechanisms, qualitative and quantitative methods, superiority of cultural factors and rich cultural connotation. Second, CLGTS is famous for its nonlinearity, self-organization, and self-iteration due to various spatial shapes and complex structures. Based on the above, we first proposed the concept of Symbolization Method of CLGTS (SM-CLGTS). Then, we further explored the key features, classification methods, and corresponding representation methods of CLGTS symbols. Finally, by using Visual C#.net program language, we developed a prototype system of the Traditional Landscape Genetic Symbol Database (TLGSD) to create and centrally manage CLGTS symbols. Test results show that TLGSD can meet the needs of constructing a CLGTS symbol database for a given region. This study is of great significance to explore and contribute to visualizing the CLGTS symbols.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors give Schwarz-Pick type estimates of arbitrary order partial derivatives for bounded pluriharmonic mappings defined in the unit polydisk, which are generalizations of results of Colonna for planar harmonic mappings in [Indiana Univ. Math. 38: 829--840, 1989].
Abstract: In this paper, we will give Schwarz-Pick type estimates of arbitrary order partial derivatives for bounded pluriharmonic mappings defined in the unit polydisk. Our main results are generalizations of results of Colonna for planar harmonic mappings in [Indiana Univ. Math. J. 38: 829--840, 1989].
