TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present an extensive review of literature in the area of technical education and examine the application of quality improvement tools and techniques in this area, and discuss policy implications and suggests corrective measures to address quality related issues in technical education.
Abstract: Indian technical education, in the recent past, experienced an exponential growth causing degradation in the employability of engineering graduates. This affected the business performance of many private technical institutions in India which are now on the brink of extinction. Low employability of engineering graduates may render them jobless and may convert the so called India's demographic dividend into the demographic disaster. Therefore, it is imperative to analyse the quality issues affecting the performance of technical institutions in India. The objective of this paper is to analyse quality issues in the technical education and examine the application of quality improvement tools and techniques in this area. The paper presents an extensive review of literature in the area of technical education. The study identifies the enablers and barriers to quality of technical education at strategic and operational level. The paper discusses policy implications and suggests corrective measures to address quality related issues in technical education.

03 Oct 2013TL;DR: The development of the right arm, right exo-frame, torso, backbone, human machine interface and omni-directional locomotion system of the tele-operated humanoid robot Dexto:Eka: is illustrated.
Abstract: Through this paper, we elucidate the second phase of the design and development of the tele-operated humanoid robot Dexto:Eka:. Phase one comprised of the development of a 6 DoF left anthropomorphic arm and left exo-frame. Here, we illustrate the development of the right arm, right exo-frame, torso, backbone, human machine interface and omni-directional locomotion system. Dexto:Eka: will be able to communicate with a remote user through Wi-Fi. An exo-frame capacitates it to emulate human arms and its locomotion is controlled by joystick. A Graphical User Interface monitors and helps in controlling the system.

TL;DR: The novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV is fatal and life-threatening in comparison to SARS- coV and MERS-CoV and the favorable environmental condition allowed for occurrence of COVID-19, which transmitted from human to human, affects the respiratory system.
Abstract: Epidemiology is a discipline that includes the study of all those conditions which influence the health of a community. It helps to describe the pattern of disease as a method of figuring out the potential preventive and controlling measures. The fundamental principal of epidemiology is that; a disease is sudden event. Every individual in a population has a specific set of characteristics and the exposure that determines his/her potentiality and susceptibility to a disease. It can be possible that firstly the non-pathogenic version of virus transmitted to an animal host such as pangolin and further directly to human or via any other intermediate like cat, Himalayan civets and dogs. After being transmitted to human, it could have evolved the pathogenic state. The aim of an epidemiological study is to analyses and avoid the potential outbreaks of any disease further. For occurrence of a disease, all three factors: agent-host-environment, play a crucial role. Previously, the SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV were also categorized under zoonotic disease. The novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV is from the same genera coronavirus. This virus is transmitted from human to human, affects the respiratory system. The newly emerged 2019-nCoV is fatal and life-threatening in comparison to SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV. The agent 2019-nCoV, host-human (susceptible human & infected human) and the favorable environmental condition allowed for occurrence of COVID-19. The viruses are transmitting between human through direct or indirect contact with infected patient.
