TL;DR: In this article, the solid-state structure of 3,3′-(p-phenylenedimethylene)bis{1-(2-methylallyl)} imidazolium bromide (1) and its Palladium(II) N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complex (3) has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies.
Abstract: The ligand 3,3′-(p-phenylenedimethylene)bis{1-(2-methylallyl)} imidazolium bromide (1) and its Palladium(II) N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complex (3) has been synthesized and characterized by several spectroscopic techniques and the solid-state structure of 3 has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The Pd(II) complex possesses ring head to tail π– π stacking interactions (3.767 A ∘) through imidazole rings. Complex 3 catalyzes Suzuki-Miyaura ‘C–C’ coupling reaction. DFT calculations have been used to understand the HOMO/LUMO energy and hence the stability and reactivity of Pd(II) complex in syn and anti-configuration.

TL;DR: It is shown that either distance between the nodes can be optimized for minimizing error probability when uniform power allocation is done, or optimum power allocation can be done for minimizing probability of error.
Abstract: In this work, we analyze the performance of a uni-directional quantum-limited inter-relay assisted free space optical link. We assume that there is no direct line of sight path between source and destination. The influence of path loss, atmospheric turbulence and pointing error impairments is considered for the analysis. The turbulence induced fading is modeled by independent but not necessarily identically distributed Gamma-Gamma fading statistics. The proposed system employs decode and forward relaying protocol assisted with channel state information. The approximate analytical expression for the probability of error is derived and illustrated by numerical plots. The asymptotic analysis for minimizing error probability in order to find optimum distance between the nodes for uniform power transmission, and for optimizing power allocated to different links, has been performed. It is shown that either distance between the nodes can be optimized for minimizing error probability when uniform power allocation is done, or optimum power allocation can be done for minimizing probability of error. Further, it helps to increase the distance for transmission between source and destination, and can make transmission possible in situations where direct link between source and destination can’t be established due to high rise buildings and other obstacles, while keeping the total transmitted power within permissible levels.

08 Mar 2011TL;DR: This paper attempts to present software design patterns for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and its related technologies for integrating both intra and inter enterprise stovepipe applications in healthcare enterprise to avoid replication of business processes and data repositories.
Abstract: There is a need to create world-class medical infrastructure in India and to make it more accessible and affordable to a large cross section of our people. With this intent, this paper attempts to present software design patterns for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and its related technologies for integrating both intra and inter enterprise stovepipe applications in healthcare enterprise to avoid replication of business processes and data repositories. We aim to develop a common virtual environment for intra and inter enterprise wide applications. The ultimate goal is to present a systematic requirement driven approach for building an Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solution using the Service Oriented Architecture and Message Oriented Middleware (MOM) principles. We aim to discuss the design concept of Enterprise Application Integration for integration of a healthcare organization and its business partners to communicate with each other in a heterogeneous network in a seamless way.

11 Mar 2015TL;DR: This paper mainly focuses on the research works done to make the wireless sensor networks more energy-efficient, and a cross-layer MAC that uses the routing technique and MAC layer jointly has also been designed to make it more energy efficient.
Abstract: In this paper, various works that have been done in the field of cross-layer design for wireless sensor networks so far have been illustrated. This paper mainly focuses on the research works done to make the wireless sensor networks more energy-efficient. For making wireless sensor networks energy efficient, various cross-layer protocols and their enhanced versions have been introduced. One of the approach for providing energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks Orthogonal Modulation approach has been provided. A cross-layer MAC that uses the routing technique and MAC layer jointly has also been designed to make the wireless sensor networks more energy efficient. Then the problem of various sensor nodes has been gathered into one sink node using clustering technique in which nodes of similar characteristics are grouped into one. So this paper is a survey on what work has been done in cross layer design in wireless sensor networks.
