TL;DR: Results show that single equal modulus decomposition with fractional Fourier transform and hybrid transform are vulnerable to theSpecial attack, whereas the proposed scheme endures the special attack.
Abstract: In this paper, an asymmetric hybrid encryption scheme, using coherent superposition and modified equal modulus decomposition in a hybrid multi-resolution wavelet, is proposed. The hybrid multi-resolution wavelet is generated using fractional Fourier transform of multiple orders and Walsh transform. The fractional orders of the fractional Fourier transform increase the key space and hence provide additional strength to the cryptosystem. The designed scheme has a large key space to avoid brute-force attack and is non-linear in nature. The scheme is validated on grey-scale images. Computer-based simulations have been performed to verify the validity and performance of the proposed scheme against various attacks. Scheme's robustness to the special attack is also checked. Results show that single equal modulus decomposition with fractional Fourier transform and hybrid transform are vulnerable to the special attack, whereas the proposed scheme endures the special attack.

01 Jan 2012TL;DR: In this article, the main advancements in the design and preparation of nanomaterials over the last 10 years, with an emphasis on functionalized metal nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, graphene, fullerene, liposomes, quantum dots, and nanocomposites, are summarized.
Abstract: Newly developed nanomaterials offer unique opportunities in the fields of industry and medical sciences that are complementary to current technology. Nanomaterials can be obtained through physicochemical processes from various inorganic and organic substances. The properties and functions of materials can be tuned through controlling the composition, structure, and morphology of the nanoparticles. Chitosan is the principle derivative of chitin, which is the second-most naturally occurring polysaccharide after cellulose. Chitosan has an amino group in the C-2 position and OH groups in the C-3 and C-5 positions of each repeat unit and can react with functional nanomaterials through various kinds of reaction mechanisms. There have been several reports on the preparation of nanoparticles and functional nanomaterials and their uses. This chapter summarizes the main advancements in the design and preparation of nanomaterials over the last 10 years, with an emphasis on functionalized metal nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, graphene, fullerene, liposomes, quantum dots, and nanocomposites, and outlines the current developing interest in functionalization of chitosan derivatives in the form of nanomaterials to provide new strategies for a wide range of applications.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) to identify the relationship among the variables and found that influence of these variables on effective HR policies, support from top management was identified.
Abstract: Objectives: The purpose of the study is to determine the critical success variables of virtual teams and design a model by identifying the interrelationships among the virtual team variables. MICMAC analysis is done to identify the driving and the dependence power. Method/Statistical Analysis: Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) is used to identify the relationship among the variables. It is prominent as it identifies the influence of one variable on the other. To obtain a correlation matrix for virtual team variables, questionnaire was sent to 120 employees (working in virtual teams), 96 usable responses were identified. The response rate is 80%. Cron bach alpha related to the questionnaire is 0.76. MIC MAC analysis was conducted to identify the driving power and the dependence power towards virtual team success. Findings: Influence of variables like leadership, organizational culture on team formation, availability of technology, team objective was found. Further, influence of these variables on effective HR policies, support from top management was identified. Sound HR policies have an influence on technology training, communication and building trust. All these variables have an influence on team performance, reduced conflict and work quality. Some variables were further classified as having strong driver power and some as having strong dependency variables. Application: Top management and managers can understand the influence of the certain important variables for virtual team success.

19 Dec 2017TL;DR: Analysis of Lorenz-chaos and exclusive-OR based image encryption scheme establishes that the key-space is large enough to resist brute-force attack, and demonstrates the scheme's resistance to noise and occlusion attacks.
Abstract: In this paper, analysis of Lorenz-chaos and exclusive-OR based image encryption scheme has been presented. The Lorenz system is used in shuffling the positions of image pixels in the spatial-domain and gray values of pixels are altered with exclusive-OR operation. The encryption scheme has been validated for grayscale images using MATLAB 7.14 and is sensitive to the encryption parameters of the Lorenz system. The experimental results establish that the key-space is large enough to resist brute-force attack, and demonstrate the scheme's resistance to noise and occlusion attacks. Statistical and correlation analysis of adjacent pixels are also performed.
