TL;DR: The novelty of the proposed method is to evaluate the practical impact of the zero minimum pressure head assumption under pressure-deficient condition in water distribution networks considering pipe isolation, fire demand, and altering total reservoir heads.
Abstract: While analysing a real network, the assumption of zero minimum pressure head as the elevation of demand node may lead to unrealistic results as some residual pressure is necessary to derive any outflow at the node. A more realistic minimum pressure head plays an important role for analysis of an existing or proposed network. The present study extends a novel method of pressure-dependent volume driven-analysis by investigating the effects of realistic minimum pressure heads. The novelty of the proposed method is to evaluate the practical impact of the zero minimum pressure head assumption under pressure-deficient condition in water distribution networks considering pipe isolation, fire demand, and altering total reservoir heads. The results obtained from the present method are compared with the results based on the more optimistic traditional assumption of zero minimum residual pressure-head. It is observed that time to fill the storage tanks under both normal and pressure-deficient conditions for non-zero minimum pressure head is higher. All the simulations were performed using graphical user interface of EPANET 2. Thus, the proposed approach can be used readily by researchers and practitioners without requiring any additional computational codes development.

Abstract: This paper proposes two different techniques to optimize the harmonic content in 15-level cascaded H-bridge multi-level inverter (MLI) The proposed techniques are used to determine the switching angle for cascaded H-bridge MLI by solving the non-linear equation using Genetic algorithm (GA) and Newton Raphson (NR) method Operation for medium voltage and High power converter requires a high-quality waveform with low switching loss The quality of waveform depends on the number of voltage levels Higher the voltage level, less will be the harmonics content of different orders Dominant orders of harmonics have more deteriorating effect in the output wave shape of the inverter If they are reduced, it will improve the nature of the wave shape This may be done by applying selective harmonics elimination (SHE) technique Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Newton-Raphson (NR) techniques have been used in SHE for generating switching pulses for a cascaded multilevel inverter The simulated results have been presented in this paper indicating the elimination of dominant order of harmonics

TL;DR: A noble automatic detection framework that employs a cascaded variational mode decomposition (VMD) and acoustic-based features of the nonstationary phonocardiogram (PCG) signals is proposed and shows the promising outcome on both the balanced and imbalanced datasets in the correct recognition of heart murmurs.
Abstract: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are potentially detected using heart sound characteristics. The presence of pathological heart murmurs is associated with cardiac abnormalities. In this paper, a noble automatic detection framework that employs a cascaded variational mode decomposition (VMD) and acoustic-based features of the nonstationary phonocardiogram (PCG) signals is proposed. The main objective is to investigate whether a reliable detection of heart murmurs can still be achieved when the dataset is imbalanced. In light of this, the proposed work has been extended for the imbalanced dataset by incorporating Adaptive Synthetic (ADASYN) sampling approach that learns from the minority samples to detect heart murmurs as the performance of the conventional classifiers degrades when the dataset is imbalanced. The result analysis shows the promising outcome on both the balanced and imbalanced datasets in the correct recognition of heart murmurs thereby paving a way to assist cardiologist for the diagnosis of heart diseases.

TL;DR: In this paper, the deformation behavior of AM30 magnesium alloy is investigated in the hot working regime and empirical relations are developed, where compression curves were fitted using two approaches, viz. piecewise linear fitting and a Johnson-Cook type relation.
Abstract: In this study, deformation behavior of AM30 magnesium alloy is investigated in the hot working regime and empirical relations are developed. Compression tests were performed in the 0.001-10 s−1 strain rate range and 423-623 K temperature range to obtain the mechanical properties. The compression curves were fitted using two approaches, viz. piecewise linear fitting and a Johnson–Cook type relation. Piecewise linear fit is found to be appropriate for describing the mechanical behavior in the dynamic recrystallization (DRX) regime as compared to the proposed Johnson–Cook type relation. The Johnson–Cook type model is not able to capture the essential feature of DRX, particularly at high strain rates.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present reliability analysis of MANET under black hole attack running DSR routing protocol, they used ns-2.35 simulation software is used to analyze the consequence of black hole attacks on the reliability of the MANET.
Abstract: The use of Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) for communication purpose has gained momentum recently. Hence, reliability and security aspects of MANET must be ensured. A good amount of research work on performance and security analysis of MANET are found in the literature. However, less research work on reliability analysis of MANET is currently available due to absence of any suitable method to deal with dynamic nature of MANET. In this paper, we present reliability analysis of MANET under black hole attack running DSR routing protocol. ns-2.35 simulation software is used to analyze the consequence of black hole attack on the reliability of MANET in DSR routing protocol. Simulation shows that the reliability of MANET under multiple black hole attack is lower than the reliability of MANET with single black hole attack in DSR routing protocol.
