TL;DR: The proposed model was validated using publicly available data-sets 'A' of PhysioNet 2016/CinC challenges that comprise of both ECG and PCG data- sets and shows that ECGand PCG signals can efficiently be employed for predicting cardiovascular disorders.
Abstract: Both PCG (Phonocardiogram) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) carry helpful features that aid in the fundamental analysis of heart-related disorders. Although they contain varying physical characteristics, some characteristics may predict some parameters better than the other. The research of such electrical and mechanical signals reveals a beneficial topic for any researcher. Hence, the study for automated detection and prediction of an anomaly of the heart using PCG and ECG signal is essential. The proposed method introduced modified preprocessing techniques along with features extraction techniques using both ECG and PCG datasets at tandem based on a different classification approach. The preprocessing of ECG signals comprises of the delineation and elimination of noise and artifacts whereas, the preprocessing of PCG signals includes the removal of unwanted noise and murmurs by applying a band-pass filter. The time-frequency features using PCG signals were extracted based on wavelet decomposition, Homomorphic filtering, Hilbert transforms, and Power spectral density. Using the ECG signals, the QRS based feature extraction method based on the Pan-Tompkins algorithm was performed. The extracted features from PCG and ECG signals were independently trained and tested using different classifiers (SVM, KNN, and Ensemble). Finally, the merged features of both the PCG and ECG signals were again trained and tested. The proposed model was validated using publicly available data-sets 'A' of PhysioNet 2016/CinC challenges that comprise of both ECG and PCG data-sets. The results show that ECG and PCG signals can efficiently be employed for predicting cardiovascular disorders.

TL;DR: There was a significant decrease in fibre percentage and increase in parenchyma percentage from bottom to top in all selected rattan species and Quantitatively, all the anatomical characteristics of fibres and vessels varied significantly along the height in all species.
Abstract: The stem of four rattan species namely Calamus latifolius, C. leptospadix, Daemonorops jenkinsiana and Plectocomia bractealis collected from Manipur was evaluated for its anatomical and physical characteristics. The stem diameter of both Calamus species was more in the top position than the bottom. The epidermis of all the investigated species was single layered with few sunken stomata. The lumina of epidermis was drop, oval, elongated and rectangular in shape. The vascular bundles were Type b in both C. latifolius and C. leptospadix, Type d in D. jenkinsiana and Type a in P. bractealis, whereas the ground tissue was Type A in both Calamus species, Type B in D. jenkinsiana and Type C in P. bractealis. The yellow cap of fibre sclereids in central vascular bundles and tyloses in metaxylem vessels was present in P. bractealis. The number of vascular bundles was maximum in periphery and bottom position of the stem. There was a significant decrease in fibre percentage and increase in parenchyma percentage from bottom to top in all selected rattan species. Quantitatively, all the anatomical characteristics of fibres and vessels varied significantly along the height in all species. Specific gravity decreased from bottom to top in all rattan species except P. bractealis.

TL;DR: Considering the rich species diversity of Primula and their distributional affinities, western Arunachal Pradesh may be considered as a centre of diversity of Indo-Chinese Primula species and appropriate conservation strategies should be adopted for the conservation of this genus.
Abstract: The paper highlights the diversity, distribution and population status of Primula species in western Arunachal Pradesh. The present study has established the rich diversity of Primula species in western Arunachal Pradesh with a record total of 25 species, out of which five species, viz., Primula ioessa W.W.Sm., Primula munroi Lindley, Primula obliqua W.W.Sm., Primula prolifera Wall. and Primula jigmediana Hook. f. & Thomson ex Watt, are new to Arunachal Pradesh. More than 60% of the taxa of Primula of the state occurs in two districts of the western part of the state. A maximum diversity (76%) of Primula species was recorded between 3500m and 4000m and a minimum (4%) was between 1500m and 2000m. This study showed the poor population of some Primula species in the study area. Among the four sampling sites the Panga-Teng-Tso is highly disturbed which is clearly reflected by very poor population density of P . hookeri (1.36 individuals m -2 ). Various natural and anthropogenic threats have led to the pressure on the habitat of Primula species. Considering the rich species diversity of Primula and their distributional affinities, western Arunachal Pradesh may be considered as a centre of diversity of Indo-Chinese Primula species and appropriate conservation strategies should be adopted for the conservation of this genus.
