TL;DR: In this paper, the formation constants of mixed chelates with DCTA as primary ligand and norleucinate (nle) as secondary ligand with metal ions were determined by the modified potentiometricpH titration method of Irving-Rossotti.
Abstract: Formation constants of mixed chelates with (trans-1,2-cyclohexylenedinitrilo)tetra-acetate (DCTA) as primary ligand and norleucinate (nle) as secondary ligand with metal ions La(III), Ce(III), Pr(III), Sm(III), Gd(III), Tb(III), Dy(III), Er(III), and Yb(III) have been determined by the modified potentiometricpH titration method of Irving-Rossotti in aqueous medium at (295±1) K and fixed ionic strength of μ=0.1M (NaClO4). Formation constants of binary complexes of the metal ions with the secondary ligand have also been determined under identical conditions. The mixed chelates were found to be more stable than the binary ones. The order of stabilities in terms of metal ions is La(III) Gd(III)

TL;DR: In this article, the axial and radial forces generated in the transformer's high voltage winding and the deformations associated with it when a double line short-circuit fault occurs were examined.
Abstract: The forces exerted due to the transient currents in a power transformer can result in deformity of core and winding. These transient currents are the excessive current arising in the transformer at the time of short-circuit fault. This study aims in examining the axial and radial force generated in the transformer's high voltage winding and the deformations associated with it when a double line short-circuit fault occurs. The analysis has been done for a three phase 11/66 kV power transformer of 40 MVA. Finite element method is employed using COMSOL Multiphysics. The electromagnetic force study is significant in determining various design parameters of the power transformer so as to protect it from the harmful effects taking place due to the transience in currents.

08 Dec 2008TL;DR: This work found that out of these three wavelets Daubechies 6 gives the best output and when averaged with the interval of time plane feature extraction method it gives least percentage of error with respect to the median reference QT interval as specified by Physionet.
Abstract: Here we present a method of QT interval measurement for Physionetpsilas online QT Challenge ECG database using the wavelets Daubechies 6 and 8 and Symlet 6 and time plane features. Doing so we found that out of these three wavelets Daubechies 6 gives the best output and when averaged with the interval of time plane feature extraction method it gives least percentage of error with respect to the median reference QT interval as specified by Physionet. Our modified time plane feature extraction scheme along with the wavelet method together produces best results for automated QT wave measurement as its regular verification is important for analyzing cardiac health. This is because delay in cardiac repolarization causes ventricular tachyarrhythmias as well as Torsade de pointes (TdP). A feature of TdP is pronounced prolongation of the QT interval in the supraventricular beat preceding the arrhythmia. TdP can degenerate into ventricular fibrillation, leading to sudden death.

TL;DR: It is expected that the development of real physical prototype of a portable pedal operated paddy thresher would certainly be cost effective, user-friendly and efficient for small and marginal farmers in the rural area.
Abstract: In the north-eastern states of India, paddy threshing is mostly carried out by traditional methods (such as bullock treading; beating by hand; crushing by foot, etc.) which require an enormous physical effort. These discomfited situations expose workers to many risk factors from ergonomics viewpoint. Therefore, it has been perceived that there is a necessity for systematic design and development towards low cost, manually operated, portable thresher considering the contextual need and topo-geographical conditions. The present research demonstrates the development of a concept CAD model of a portable pedal operated paddy thresher and evaluates the model through virtual ergonomic assessment. For virtual ergonomic evaluation of the CAD model of the thresher, customized digital manikins (5th, 50th and 95th percentile models of both male and female) were created in DELMIA software. These manikins represent anthropometric dimensions of the Assamese agricultural worker population. Postural comfort evaluation in virtual environment revealed that the proposed model was found to be acceptable. Following virtual ergonomic evaluation, it is expected that the development of real physical prototype would certainly be cost effective, user-friendly and efficient for small and marginal farmers in the rural area.
