Heat transfer—A review of 2004 literature

TL;DR: A review of heat transfer literature published in 2004 in English language, including some translations of foreign language papers, is presented in this paper, where papers are grouped into subject-oriented sections and further divided into sub-fields.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three-dimensional analysis for liquid hydrogen in a cryogenic storage tank with heat pipe–pump system

TL;DR: In this article, a 3D finite element model is employed in a set of numerical simulations to solve for velocity and temperature fields of liquid hydrogen in steady state in a zero boil-off storage tank.
Journal ArticleDOI

Micron-gap spacers with ultrahigh thermal resistance and mechanical robustness for direct energy conversion.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that deposited aluminum oxide spacers can be integrated between electrodes in a thermionic device, achieving a thermal conductivity in a vacuum of just 5 mW’m–1 K–1—below that of aerogel—and can sustain compressive stresses of 0.4–4 MPa while avoiding electrical or thermal shorts.

Experimental study of the influences of degraded vacuum on multilayer insulation blankets

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental investigation on the heat transfer of MLI with different rarefied gases at different pressures was carried out using an innovative static liquid nitrogen boil-off rate measurement system in the case of the small temperature perturbations of cold and warm boundaries.

Nozzle injection displacement mixing in a zero boil-off hydrogen storage tank

TL;DR: In this paper, a steady-state analysis of fluid flow and heat transfer in a zero boil-off cryogenic liquid hydrogen storage tank in microgravity environment is presented, and the results show that thermal performance of the system can be improved by increasing the inlet diameter and properly selecting the depth and the span of the nozzle head.

Advances in Heat Transfer

TL;DR: Advances in Heat Transfer as mentioned in this paper provides in-depth review articles over a broader scope than in traditional journals or texts, which serve as a broad review for experts in the field and are also of great interest to non-specialists who need to keep up to date with the results of the latest research.
