Abstract
A new method of obtaining the kinetic parameters from thermogravimetric curves has been proposed. The method is simple and applicable to reactions which can not be analyzed by other methods. The effect of the heating rate on thermogravimetric curves has been elucidated, and the master curve of the experimental curves at different heating rates has been derived. The applications of the method to the pyrolyses of calcium oxalate and nylon 6 have been shown ; the results are in good agreement with the reported values. The applicability of the method to other types of thermal analyses has been discussed, and the method of the conversion of the data to other conditions of temperature change has been suggested. From these discussions, the definition of the thermal stability of materials has been criticized.

A new iterative linear integral isoconversional method for the determination of the activation energy varying with the conversion degree

TL;DR: A new iterative linear integral isoconversional method for the determination of theactivation energy as a function of the conversion degree has been proposed, which is capable of providing valid values of the activation energy even if the latter strongly varies with the conversiondegree.

Comparing kinetics and mechanism of adsorption and thermo-oxidative decomposition of Athabasca asphaltenes onto TiO2, ZrO2, and CeO2 nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this paper, the adsorption behavior of nC7-asphaltenes appeared to change with the type of adsorbent used, and it was found that nC-7-ASs' adorption at 25°C is metal oxide specific.

A kinetic compensation effect established for the thermal decomposition of a solid

TL;DR: In this article, two causes for the kinetic compensation effect (KCE) were recognized for a given solidstate reaction at various heating rates, one due to any change in the range of reaction and the other due to misestimation of the appropriate rate law.

Estimating isothermal life from thermogravimetric data

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a method for estimating equivalent isothermal life from thermogravimetric data and for estimating the apparent activation energy for volatilization even though the nature of the kinetic process is unknown.
