Abstract
Air, air, air… and some solid skeleton; this is the basis for an interesting class of materials-the aerogels (shown schematically on the right). Can one therefore speak of "simple" chemistry? The design of such a filigrane network requires the very careful control of chemical parameters. The reward is an assortment of different property profiles owing to the richness of possible variations.

Simple fabrication of micro/nano-porous SiOC foam from polysiloxane

TL;DR: In this paper, micro/nano-porous SiOC foams with narrow pore size distribution were fabricated by pyrolysis of polymeric gels prepared from mixtures of crosslinkable polysiloxane PSO and methyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxANE PDMS, and the pore sizes and porosities of the porous SiOC materials could be adjusted in the range from 10 nm to 3 μm.

Efficient Removal of Dyes from Aqueous Solution by a Porous Sodium Alginate/gelatin/graphene Oxide Triple-network Composite Aerogel

TL;DR: In this article, a three-dimensional robust SGGO triple-network composite aerogel was designed using a "hydrophilic assembly-sustained release gelation" two-step method.

Multiwalled carbon nanotube cryogels with aligned and non-aligned porous structures

TL;DR: In this article, multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) cryogels were fabricated with aligned and non-aligned porous structures using a sol-gel process of silk fibroin to form the network structures.

Nanoporous Materials Derived from Polymeric Bicontinuous Microemulsions

TL;DR: In this article, a universal approach to the synthesis of nanoporous materials with pore structures that are highly precise replications of bicontinuous microemulsions is presented.
