Future feed resources in sustainable salmonid production: A review

TL;DR: In this paper , the most promising marine ingredients, including low-trophic species (mesopelagic fish, zooplankton, polychaetes, macroalgae and crustaceans), novel microbial ingredients (bacteria, yeast and microalgae), insects (black soldier fly, yellow meal worm and crickets), animal byproducts (poultry meal, meat and bone meal, blood meal and hydrolysed feather meal) and by-products from other commercial productions (trimmings and blood).

Credence and the effect on consumer liking of food

TL;DR: In this article, a conceptual model based on a framework of consumers' quality perception process is presented and applied and seven main categories of credence characteristics can be identified in the literature: health, organic food, origin, brand, production methods, ethics, and descriptive food names and ingredients.

Comparing black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae versus prepupae in the diets of largemouth bass, Micropterus salmoides: Effects on their growth, biochemical composition, histopathology, and gene expression

TL;DR: Although the nutritional value of BSFL and BSFP depends on their diet, this study clearly demonstrates that BSFL is better for M. salmoides compared to BSFP, which may be related to the high chitin content of the BSFP.

Comparing black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae versus prepupae in the diets of largemouth bass, Micropterus salmoides: Effects on their growth, biochemical composition, histopathology, and gene expression

- 01 Jan 2022 -
TL;DR: In this paper , an 8-week feeding trial was performed to compare the supplementation of full-fat black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) versus pre-pupae (BSFP) in the diets of largemouth bass, Micropterus salmoides , juveniles.

Possible Dietary Effects of Insect-Based Diets across Zebrafish (Danio rerio) Generations: A Multidisciplinary Study on the Larval Phase

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of programming via broodstock nutrition on F1 zebrafish larvae development were investigated through biometric, gas chromatographic, histological, and molecular analyses.

Stress in Fishes: A Diversity of Responses with Particular Reference to Changes in Circulating Corticosteroids

TL;DR: Fishes display a wide variation in their physiological responses to stress, which is clearly evident in the plasma corticosteroid changes, chiefly cortisol in actinopterygian fishes, that occur following a stressful event.
